In this episode, Emely chats with Jilani Skinner, a high school volunteer at Keys 2 Success. Jilani talks about how she initially became involved with Keys, what her favorite part about volunteering is, and some of the lessons she’s learned over the past few months. Jilani also discusses her role as a social media manager, and how she's able to find purpose and fulfillment in creating content for Keys. In this episode Emely sat down with K2S intern Ella to discuss her experience volunteering at Keys. Typically seen working behind the scenes, summer camp was Ella's first time teaching in-person piano lessons. Together they discuss Ella's favorite parts about teaching, some lessons she's learned along the way, and how her views on education have developed since working with Keys. In her interview with Anusha, Chumani talked about being a college student while working in the summer program this year as a piano teacher. She revealed that she was most impressed by how much she learned from the kids while she was teaching them, how she communicated with them in new, innovative ways, and that she feels inspired to continue learning to play the piano after seeing how passionate the students were about practicing new music.
