Episode 195: Mountains in the Sea Part 1 - The Future Fulfillment of Jesus' Promise

Summary: Jesus told His disciples that they could have faith and move mountains. This has become an expression of great faith throughout the ages. However, as is often the case with Scripture, Christ's statement warrants a closer look. What was Jesus referring to regarding moving mountains? Is there some specific prophetic event in which this will apply?

Scriptures: All Scripture references are from the King James Version of the Bible.

    Mark 11:20-23, 1 Corinthians 13:1-2, Matthew 17:14-21, Matthew 21:17-22, Luke 13:6-9, Acts 7:51-56, Isaiah 3:13-14, Colossians 3:1, Ephesians 2:4-7, Matthew 24:29-33, Revelation 18:21-24

Takeaway: Yes, it will take tremendous faith to cast mountains into the sea! I believe these things will literally take place during the time of Jacob’s Trouble. The tribulation saints of God in Israel will witness these events as they watch the Lord return to deliver them!

  • Episode 194: Hell, God's Prison - Interview with Gary P. Miller
    Jul 15 2024

Hell, God's Prison: Gary P. Miller Discusses the Scriptural Realities of Hell's Horrors, Episode 194

Hell is a real place, and the Bible describes it in great detail. In this episode, we take a Scriptural journey that a lost person takes when they die. Our tour guide is Gary P. Miller. Gary is pastor of Grace Harbor Church in Arlington Heights, IL. He’s authored The Way of Cain and Creation: In the Beginning, and Hell: God’s Prison. We welcome Pastor Gary back to Bible Mysteries!

This episode Is brought to you by the following Bible Mysteries Podcast Premium Subscribers or Seekers:

Joanna Green, Charles Medearis, Dwayne Law, Nancy Tuck, and Christopher Evans Fox. (Feb and Mar 2024)

    Questions for Bro. Gary:

    1. What led you to write Hell: God’s Prison?
    2. Your book paints the terrifying picture of the process an unrighteous soul goes through as the descend to hell. Let’s start with hell’s location; hell is beneath us, correct?
    3. You present the Scriptures that describe hell as having bars and gates. This is indicative of a literal prison?
    4. You describe hell as being in the center of the earth. Explain that for us, and how does this fit with the idea that some believe the earth is flat?
    5. The gates of hell are called its mouth. Is this the actual entrance into the prison?
    6. Explain for our listeners the different compartments in hell.
    7. Is the great gulf fixed between Abraham and Lazarus the abyss or bottomless pit?
    8. You explain in the book that hell also houses angels in chains. Are these not the same entities in the bottomless pit?
    9. How do we know the bottomless pit housed the furnace that heats hell?
    10. Let’s discuss the different occupants, past and present, of hell. There are more than just wicked men there, correct?
    11. You discuss the soul having its eyes closed until death. Share what you learned about the makeup of the soul.
    12. What is the east wind and why is it so terrifying?
    13. Many believers find it difficult to understand that Jesus Christ literally descended into hell. Help us understand why this was necessary?
    14. You write, as many believe, that when Christ ascended up to the Father, He led captivity captive and emptied Abraham’s Bosom. How do we reconcile this idea with Acts 2:34-35?
    13. Your take on the worm is one I never considered before. Explain why this worm is the soul and not some hellish creature that feeds on a soul in hell?
    1. Take us through the journey of the lost soul from the moment they die.

    2. Explain how hell and the lake of fire differ.

    3. Do you think the lake of fire exists now, or will it be created in the future?

    Takeaway:

Hell is a horrible prison for the unsaved and wicked. It is a place no one should want to go and a fate that can be avoided by trusting Christ as Lord and Savior. As bad as hell is, it is not the end for the unrighteous. There will come a day when they are judged and cast into the lake of fire, which is worse than hell! People who end up in this judgment do so because of unbelief.

  • Episode 193: Here Be Dragons!
    Jul 8 2024

Episode 193: Here Be Dragons! Show Notes

    Summary:

"Here be Dragons" was a phrase early cartographers (map makers) used on faraway, uncharted corners of the map. It was used to warn people away from dangerous areas where sea monsters were believed to exist. Most view dragons as mythological creatures, but the Bible has a very different view of them, and they are quite real. Let's explore the mystery of dragons!

This episode Is brought to you by the following Bible Mysteries Podcast

Premium Subscribers or Seekers: Amelia Joan Goodridge, Garrett Thomas, Ian Ayres, Lisa Cattanach, and Jennifer Strope

    Notes:

Dragons: תַּנִּין tannîn (tan-neen') - dragon, serpent, sea monster

    dragon or dinosaur

    sea or river monster

    serpent, venomous snake

    Scriptures:

All Scripture references are from the King James Version of the Bible.

    Psalm 148:7-14, Job 30:28-31, Psalm 91:10-13, Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 26:20-27:1, Psalm 44:18-26, Deuteronomy 32:31-34, Ezekiel 29:3-6, Isaiah 51:9-11, Jeremiah 51:33-35, Isaiah 13:19-22, Revelation 18:1-3, Jeremiah 9:1-11, Isaiah 34:1-15, Isaiah 35:3-10, Isaiah 43:19-21, Psalm 74:10-14, Revelation 12:3-4, Revelation 12:7-9, Micah 1:8-9, Revelation 16:12-14, Revelation 20:1-3

    Takeaway:

Dragons are very much real in Scripture and not at all what mythology presents them to be, although there are hints of truth in the legends. Dragons were considered magical creatures and often depicted as winged serpents. In reality, this likely is a distortion of the actual reptilian beings, Seraphim, who, along with Satan, comprise the serpent brotherhood that is at war with humanity and the Lord. Here be dragons, indeed! They will soon be here, cast down and confined to the earth. And woe unto those who will inhabit the earth in that time!

I am loving these podcasts!

I love how these podcasts answer questions most pastors shy away from or just tell you...pray for answers or study the scriptures. If you have a study Bible with commentary you might notice that some of the scriptures here have no explanation. I encourage listeners to follow along in the scriptures here. It makes it much more understandable. These podcasts are getting me back into my beloved Bible!

These are a must listen!

I like how the Pastor breaks down the scripture so that it’s clear and understandable. I have been a Christian all my life and listening to these episodes has given me so much more understanding of the full picture than I’ve ever had.
You really do need to be ready to take the red-pill, if your a closed minded person you’ll never be able to fully understand the Bible and what God is doing and why.
Keep up the great work. This is needed in the days we live in.
