  • Our 800th Episode! Talking Gasoline Rainbow with the Ross Brothers
    May 15 2024

Holy shit, we're 800 episodes old! And we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than with some of our all time favorite guests, Bill and Turner Ross. We met up during the SXSW festival at the Mean-Eyed Cat, one of our favorite bars in Austin, to discuss Gasoline Rainbow, their newest film that your favorite bitches make a brief cameo in!

Gasoline Rainbow follows five teenagers from small-town Oregon who, with high school in the rear view, hop in a van and decide to embark on one last adventure. In this episode we dish on everything from how we met the Ross Brothers at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020, the photo that prompted them to ask us to be in their film, bonding with and mentoring the teens in the film, and how they were able to make an optimistic movie in a very difficult time.

Join us for the SF premiere of Gasoline Rainbow at the Roxie on Friday, May 17th @ 6:30pm! For tickets, click here

And then join us for the after party at the Casements Bar down the street!

  • I Saw The TV Glow Director Jane Schoenbrun
    May 9 2024

We're excited to have return guest Jane Schoenbrun with a powerhouse film that they wrote and directed, I Saw The TV Glow. The film is set in the '90s and follows Owen, an awkward teenager whose classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night tv show, and his new obsession begins to cause cracks in his sense of reality.

Jane describes their "egg crack moment", and how important it was to cast queer actors (led by the wonderful duo of Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine) that we normally don't see in teenage angst films. And then we discuss the '90s nostalgia and gorgeous cinematography that this film serves, our mutual obsession with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the incredible soundtrack that'll leave you wondering if Jane is also a part-time DJ. Jane is a unique and important voice in the entertainment industry, and we are fucken' here for it.
