Karen shares her lived experience as a Black Woman in Policing who was finally able to join after height restrictions were relaxed. Karen was awarded QPM and was the first Black female to reach the rank of Superintendent in West Midlands Police history.

Dr. Marlene Ellis served as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police Service joining in 1977 and retiring 12 years later, leaving at the rank of Sergeant.
