Join us as we jump into the history of this exciting event (MH's Favorite) that has become a staple for basketball fans and a crucial stepping stone for aspiring NBA players. We discuss its evolution over the years, and how it has grown into a premier showcase for emerging talent and a mainstay July event in Las Vegas.


    The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas started as a small event with just a handful of teams, but it has since exploded in popularity, drawing participants and spectators from around the world. Today, it features all 30 NBA teams and provides a unique platform for rookies, undrafted players, and young stars to prove their worth and earn a spot on an NBA roster. We'll highlight some of our most memorable moments and standout performances from past Summer Leagues, showcasing how it has launched the careers of many NBA greats.


    This year's summer league has an extra buzz with one of the most anticipated debuts: Lakers Bronny James, the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and son of the legendary LeBron James AKA King James. We'll discuss Bronny's impact of having a name like James in the Summer League. With Las Vegas as the backdrop, we'll also touch on the vibrant atmosphere that makes the Las Vegas NBA Summer League a fan favorite, from the bustling Thomas & Mack and Cox arenas to the interactions with NBA legends and celebrities.

From enduring racial discrimination to overcoming immense obstacles just to play the game they loved, these athletes as well as white allies exemplified resilience and determination.     Join us as we examine notable instances where athletes and teams have accepted or declined invitations based on their stance towards the current sitting president. Noteworthy examples include:

    Las Vegas Aces (WNBA) - Mulitple visits after their back to back WNBA Championships.

    New England Patriots (NFL) - Multiple visits following their Super Bowl victories, including during the presidencies of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.

    Golden State Warriors (NBA) - A visit after their 2015 NBA Championship win during President Barack Obama's tenure, but a decline during Donald Trump's presidency after their 2017 and 2018 championships.

    Clemson Tigers (NCAA Football) - A visit in January 2019 after winning the College Football Playoff National Championship. Fast Food visit.

    Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) - Multiple visits over the years, celebrating their Stanley Cup victories during the presidencies of George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.
