  • Embracing entrepreneurship and finding fulfillment in aligning with your higher power with Kerri Steele
    Jul 16 2024

    Hey friends!

I'm so excited to share this incredible conversation I had with my dear friend, Kerri Steele. Kerri is not just a powerhouse entrepreneur; she's the founder of Little Hearts of Hope, a fantastic organization based right here in Frisco, Texas. Grab your coffee and settle in—you're going to love her story.

    Meet Kerri Steele

So, let me introduce you to Kerri Steele. She's the amazing brain behind Little Hearts of Hope, a mom to three wonderful kids, and, fun fact, she's known around town as the "King Cake Lady of Frisco." Talk about wearing multiple hats!

How Little Hearts of Hope Came to Be

Kerri's story is one of those that hits you right in the heart. At 31, with three little ones running around, her world turned upside down when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. They gave him six months, but he fought bravely for three years. After he passed, Kerri was left with a broken heart and a big question: What now?

    Finding Purpose Through Pain

Kerri didn’t just sit around feeling sorry for herself. Instead, she turned to prayer and fasting, seeking guidance. That’s when the idea for Little Hearts of Hope was born. Her vision? To support families dealing with cancer by providing emotional support and practical coping skills for kids.

What Little Hearts of Hope Does

Kerri's organization sends out these fantastic monthly packages filled with activities like play and art therapy. They're designed to help kids process their emotions in a healthy way. And the best part? It's all faith-based, teaching kids that their emotions are gifts from God.

The Journey of Building a Nonprofit

Starting a nonprofit wasn’t a walk in the park. Kerri had her doubts, especially about fundraising. But with a lot of faith and encouragement from a local cancer ministry, she took the plunge. Fast forward ten years, and Little Hearts of Hope is now a lifeline for families nationwide, serving 100-200 kids every month.

Community and Faith: The Heartbeat of Success

One thing that shines through in Kerri’s journey is her unwavering faith and the incredible support from the community. She often talks about seeing the best of humanity through the kindness of volunteers and donors. It's a beautiful reminder of what can happen when we come together for a good cause.

Words of Wisdom for Tough Times

Kerri's advice for anyone going through a dark time is simple yet profound: take small steps every day. Even if it's just brushing your teeth or making breakfast, those little victories add up. And whatever you do, don’t isolate yourself. Reach out, even if it's just to one person.

    How You Can Help

If Kerri’s story has touched your heart and you want to get involved, there are so many ways to help. You can sponsor a child, host a supply drive, or even come help pack some of those wonderful packages. Check out littleheartsofhope.org for more details.

Kerri Steele is a true inspiration, and her story is a powerful reminder that even in our darkest times, there is a path to light and purpose. I hope her journey inspires you as much as it has inspired me.
