  • 117. Eliza Williams on creating a community, applying for artist residencies and the value of relationships

    Today I have the pleasure of speaking with the extremely talented illustrator, Eliza Williams of Doolittle Illustrations.

    Eliza is a multi-disciplinary creative who specialises in illustration, animation and design, bringing a bit of colour into people’s lives.

    Her work takes on many different forms combining both digital and traditional mediums to create a colourful little world to escape to and explore.

    In this episode, Eliza shares her journey as an illustrator and talks about her experience going viral on Instagram, ending her up on the wrong side of the platform and having her account removed (don’t worry - she got it back!).

    She shares her thoughts on creating a community, not a following, and why she believes that connection is at the core of all of her greatest successes.

    Eliza also shares her experience of doing an art residency in Japan, her collaboration with Spotify, and some awesome little nuggets of wisdom for creatives from her own experiences.
