  • Interview with Sadye (Sadye Returns!)
    Sep 4 2024
We had the pleasure of interviewing Sadye over Zoom video!

Sadye was one of the winners of Optimism's "We Heart The Art" Contest! The contest shines a light on the creativity and innovation occurring onchain. Sadye minted her song Pretty Traumatized on Sound.xyz in January, which was her entry for Optimism's "We Heart The Art" contest.

Inspired by her intense struggle with cancer, discovering self-worth, and dealing with toxic relationships, her lyrics are steeped in a sarcastic form of catharsis as she learns to love her literal, and figurative, scars; a theme beautifully juxtaposed by catchy, modern melodies and edgy pop production. Her music has received adds to coveted Spotify playlists including Obsessed, IT"S A BOP!, New Pop Picks, Night Pop and more as well as Apple's New in Alternative, Amazon's Breakthrough Pop, Girl Squad and Tidal's Future Sounds.

Her latest single "Pretty Traumatized" is produced by regular collaborators Mike Green (Paramore, Sueco, Gwen Stefani, 5SOS, Paris Hilton) and Nico Stadi (Justin Bieber, Jason Derulo). The track is a bouncy, nostalgic, dark-pop anthem. Featuring airy keys punctuated by 80's synth stabs and driving 808's, Sadye delivers her signature tongue-in-cheek lyrics inspired by her real life story of recovery, reminding us that we can embrace our traumas and still look damn good doing it.

Sadye transcends the limits of mainstream pop, challenging listeners and breathing new life into the genre with otherworldly mystique and uncompromising vision. From humble beginnings as a small town singer/songwriter, Sadye writes with depth and heart, often taking on unexpectedly dark and heavy themes. Inspired by her intense struggle with cancer, dealing with toxic relationships, and finally discovering her self-worth, her lyrics are steeped in a sarcastic form of catharsis as she learns to love her literal, and figurative, scars; a theme beautifully juxtaposed by catchy, modern melodies and edgy pop production, appealing to fans of Kim Petras and Charli XCX to Nine Inch Nails and The Weeknd.

Boasting hundreds of thousands of streams, TV placements, and playlist covers, Sadye leans into her inconceivable “industry plant” aesthetic, challenging conventional notions of stardom, and prompting listeners to question the essence of celebrity. Intrigued by emerging technology, she boldly ventures into the web3 space, seamlessly bringing her cult into the future with exclusive digital rewards, proof of her commitment to standing out in a rapidly evolving music landscape.

  • Interview with Livingston
    Aug 26 2024
We had the pleasure of interviewing Livingston over Zoom video!

LIVINGSTON is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter who is having an insane year. In March, he released his debut album A Hometown Odyssey, which has already amassed over 70 million streams on Spotify alone. (Check out lead singles “Last Man Standing” and “Shadow.”) He sold out his first-ever headline tours in both North America, and the UK/Europe.

LIVINGSTON gained over 7M followers across all platforms and was named Youtube’s Artist on the Rise in June 2024. His uncanny ability to empower listeners to realize their potential has accelerated Livingston’s ascent as a world-building alt-pop music maverick.

  • Interview with GHØSTKID
    Aug 13 2024
We had the pleasure of interviewing GHØSTKID over Zoom video!

"The biggest problem that art has nowadays is that it doesn't hurt anymore," says GHØSTKID vocalist and agent provocateur Sebastian "Sushi" Biesler. "Especially here in Germany, people are so afraid to push boundaries, to make art that makes you think and feel."

By fall 2021, with the world shutdown seemingly over, Sushi wasn't content to let his creative yen languish at home in Germany.

"Even though we had made it through COVID, I was missing being able to play live, to really function as a band," says Sushi. "It didn't feel real to me. I became distanced from the music." A six-week decampment to Los Angeles became the creative fuel for GHØSTKID's next steps. The last vestiges of Hollywood sleaze, decaying glamour, personal temptation, and the still-vibrant creative vibes of the city became the frontman's "don't-look-before-you-leap" inspiration for the gestating HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE.

The album is a perfect snapshot of an artist finding himself, crawling from his own personal wreckage against a crumbling, mythical Californian milieu. "That's why 'HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE' is the first track. If you really want to make it, you have to give a lot. You have to be willing to give up everything. It's kind of like suicide to the person that you've been when you become an artist."

The matching, lush, and elaborate art adorning the album was created by Aly Wayne Gacy.
