• The gathering of the church after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus
    Jul 21 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... We know from the Bible there were meetings of the Jews conducted at the Jewish synagogues. But there were no church buildings where Christians met. The Christians met in homes, often in secret, because of the persecution of the early church by the Jews. Paul tells us what to do when we gather as the church. I Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. I've never seen a church do these things as Paul showed us in 1 Corinthians 14. Usually in today's church everything is planned before the main meeting. But apparently in the early church, they gathered at a home, and it was the Holy Spirit who brought forth the message through those in the congregation. So the meeting message would be structured by the Holy Spirit of God. Several years ago, I went to the home of my cousin before my aunt's funeral. My cousin was conducting the funeral. He and his father were sitting at the dining room table with many books on either side of them as they planned what would be said. I attended the service and found myself groaning at that which was spoken, which was planned by man. 💥💥💥 In a dream, I went to a church service. A large group of people were meeting in a very large two storied building. There were no seats available on the lower floor so I went into the balcony. One seat remained but it was behind a very large post. I sat down in that place. A man leaned over and said to me, "You can't see much from that seat." I replied, "There's never much to see at these places anyway." When man plans the meeting and everyone else is shut out, I believe much of the Holy Spirit is stopped from speaking at the gathering. As I have attended such meetings I've often thought, "If Jesus Himself was sitting here, HE would not be allowed to speak." 💥💥💥 Once I attended a Bible class where the teacher always said, "Does anyone have a word from the Lord." He opened up the class for God to speak through HIS Spirit. I believe this is more what Paul was telling us to do. 💥💥💥 Here are some statements showing us the church after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. I Peter 5:13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. Romans 16:1-5 (Paul says) I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. I Corinthians 12:27-28 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church (to care for the church), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Acts 11:22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. I Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3 John verse 9-10 I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church. Acts 18:22 And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch. Acts 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. Colossians 4:16 And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. I Timothy 3:14-15 (Paul writes) These things write I unto thee, hoping to come ...

  • If we keep sinning after we are born again
    Jul 20 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Revelation 3:5 (Jesus says) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels. We overcome by allowing verses of scripture to overcome our flesh and we choose to do those scriptures rather than doing that which the flesh wants to do. Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know HIM that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge HIS people. 💥💥💥 A Christian is changed by the power of the Word of God. He no longer does those worldly sins that he once did. And Paul tells us if a "brother in Christ" does those sins, put him away from us though he says he is a Christian. I Corinthians 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 13 ... Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. 💥💥💥 Recently a woman in our church group asked me to forgive her for "lashing out" (railing) at me. I replied: I do forgive you ... but you are still a "railer". Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery: "Go ... and sin no more." This woman in our church group who is a railer, has been a railer as long as I have known her, since 1980. I have corrected her many times and she will settle down for a season only to rise again railing at me, usually when I bring godly correction to her as an apostle and prophet of Jesus Christ. By doing this she fights against the ministries God has ordained me to do, apostle & prophet. If you should gain 100 pounds of weight, You might be sorry, but you will still have to take actions to deal with that weight. I have found if I want to make changes, I need a scripture to live by. When I keep that verse before me day and night doing that verse for weeks every day, it becomes a part of me and eventually I can overcome my flesh. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. The apostle Paul said ... I can do all things though Christ (the Word) which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 So take that word that is brought to you by the Holy Spirit, and do that Word and keep doing it as long as needed to get that word to be a part of you and change your behavior. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

  • The Bible says: "The love of money is the root of all evil." (1 Timothy 6)
    Jul 19 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Many people get stingier as they get older. They trust in themselves. They cut back and are afraid to spend money now that they don't earn as much as they did when they were younger. They begin to talk about living on "a fixed income." (I really hate it when I hear someone say this for most of us live on "fixed incomes" throughout our lives.) What does the Bible say about money? I Timothy 6 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (If you are in debt, you probably have a love of money and follow after money without recognizing it. If you are caught up in buying on sale, you likely are led by money more than you know. If you buy because of price, you are likely led by money.) 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: (When I began receiving $500 a month Social Security monthly checks, I quit taking a salary from the ministry. The ministry paid my rent and I could live on my social security monthly checks paying for my personal needs.) This recording concerns money and following after money and how corrupting it is to do that. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

  • If we do these two scriptures continually daily and keep doing them we will be well on the way to good success
    Jul 18 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. We are promised that if we ask God HE will give us HIS wisdom. What more do we need in this life? 💥💥💥 Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. I don't see how we could fail if we did these two scripture and had real faith in God. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

  • Jesus says: "Be not deceived"
    Jul 17 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... In the last days, many will say they are Christians. Jesus says, And they will deceive many. Matthew 24 1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and HIS disciples came to HIM for to shew HIM the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as HE sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto HIM privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in MY name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. The sign of the end time: Many come saying they are Christians ... but they are not. Thereby they will be able to deceive many. Be not deceived. Is the Spirit of God in that person? Is there evidence? Is there something revealed by God that they share with you? ... or do they just tell you about the church they attend? So few speak saying to me anything God has told them. Most tell me what they have done. But unless God authored this work, it is a work of their own flesh. Do you have evidence of God working in them? 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

  • The perilous times of the days ahead
    Jul 16 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... 2 Timothy 3 (The apostle Paul says) 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 💥💥💥 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of WHOM thou hast learned them; (knowing it was God by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures WHO taught you these truths) 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog

  • After praying, how do you recognize the plans that are sent from God
    Jul 15 2024
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... James 3 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation (manner of life) his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 💥💥💥 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. 💥💥💥 Matthew 11 (Jesus says) 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog
