She had plans to catch up with some good friends from high school and attend a Beyonce concert with a new guy she had met that year at A&M. But when Tynesha suddenly stopped answering calls and texts from her friends, and missed the Beyonce concert, her loved ones knew that something must be terribly wrong. In the summer of 2006, 23-year-old Morehouse College student Carlnell Walker was found deceased in the trunk of his car. He had been bound and tortured, and it was obvious to police that they were dealing with a homicide. But answers as to who was behind the brutal crime and why they did it were not so obvious. It was recommended by a listener a couple months ago and, as I dug into the research, I just knew I had to share the story with the rest of you as well. You see, it’s the story of not just one senseless murder, but four – four innocent people horrifically lost their lives at the hands of a scorned former lover who could not accept that his ex-girlfriend had finally moved on. This episode is rated a 5 (on my Serious Crime Scale). When Erika Friman called it quits with her high school boyfriend before they went off to college, she never thought he’d take it so hard. But his heartbreak soon turned into an obsessive mission to win her back – to the point that he ditched his plans to attend a four-year university and followed her to a community college across the state of Florida. Then, when he learned Erika had started dating one of his friends from high school, he spiraled out of control and took the ultimate revenge – murder. At least, that’s what a jury decided in 2014. But, is there more to the story than that? Let’s find out.

In 2015, 22-year-old Heather Maples packed up her bags and moved across the country from Texas to Tennessee for new opportunities and a fresh start. But only a week after she learned she was accepted into college at Middle Tennessee State University, she was found brutally murdered in her off-campus apartment. Although several persons of interest immediately surfaced, police were ultimately led to her killer through one key clue – a clear-as-day, bloody fingerprint left at the scene. Unfortunately, for 20-year-old college student Alyssiah Wiley, her exit from the relationship with her long-term boyfriend resulted in the ultimate betrayal – her murder. This episode is rated a 5 (on my Serious Crime Scale), and it sheds light on just how dangerous firearms can be if they are placed into the hands of an irresponsible owner – even when they aren’t used with intention to kill. In September of 2021, just days after he committed to the U.S. Army, Texas State University student Austin Salyer was fatally wounded by a bullet while he slept. The tragic incident occurred when the gun owner mishandled the weapon from an apartment next door, inadvertently discharging it through the wall. Listen now to hear the fully story.
