Cara's commitment to public service brought her to Raleigh, N.C., where she served as a policy advisor under Governor Pat McCrory, focusing on critical issues like education, energy, and healthcare. She furthered her education with a master’s degree in International Public Policy from the University of Virginia and Liberty University, solidifying her expertise in policy and governance. Currently, Cara serves as Regional Director for Vaya Health, advocating for improved healthcare outcomes in North Carolina. Her community involvement includes leadership roles in organizations like the Greater Greensboro Republican Women's Club and active participation in civic groups like the League of Women Voters. Now, Cara is focused on her candidacy for the NC Board of Education District 5, driven by her passion for advocating for children, families, and educators in Guilford County Schools.
