  • E.115 "I've been in Wellness for 10 years" and here is what you need to know with Madeleine Shaw
    Jul 16 2024

This week in my kitchen, I am joined by Madeleine Shaw, a Nutritionist, Yoga Instructor, and Holistic Health Professional who has spent a decade in the wellness industry. Madeleine's journey began in Sydney, where she grew tired of dealing with IBS and sought the help of a naturopath. The naturopath recommended a complete dietary overhaul, including more wholefoods, fruits, vegetables, and increased protein intake. Motivated by her improved energy and well-being, Madeleine started documenting her progress on her food blog, MadeleineShaw.com, to share her discoveries with others. This led to a successful career as an Influencer with 262K followers and the author of several Sunday Times Best Selling Cookbooks.

In this episode, I aim to delve into Madeleine's 10-year journey in the wellness space, exploring how the industry has evolved and how she has grown along with it. We also discuss the various health and wellness trends that have come and gone, and what true health means amidst a world of conflicting and misleading information.

Finally, I took the opportunity to ask Madeleine some pressing nutrition questions from both myself and the community. This episode provides an insightful look into the reality of wellness and features one of the original Instagram Influencers who started before the term "influencer" even existed.

    We discuss the following topics:

    • Madeleine's journey with IBS and how her diet and lifestyle changed
    • How she became a nutritionist and influencer
    • Holisitc Health and what that truly means
    • The wellness landscape and how it has changed over the last 10 years

  • E.113 How To Be A High Performer With Lewis Moody
    Jul 2 2024

This week in my kitchen, I'm joined by Lewis Moody, a former England rugby player, to discuss what it takes to excel both on the pitch and in life. Lewis has had an illustrious career, representing his country, winning World Cups, and turning his passion into a lifelong pursuit. However, upon retiring from rugby, he realised he needed to find a new passion for the next chapter of his life.

After transitioning from having coaches in all areas of his life to none, Lewis recognised the crucial role a coach plays. He decided to become a life coach and mentor, helping others achieve their goals. Lewis emphasises that while we might think we can succeed alone, having a coach is essential for providing feedback and guidance.

During his rugby career, Lewis also battled a chronic bowel condition called Ulcerative Colitis. Despite being told he would need lifelong medication, Lewis turned to the power of food. By completely overhauling his diet, he managed to heal his gut and eliminate his reliance on medication. Today, he lives symptom-free, thanks to his dietary changes.

In addition, Lewis founded the Lewis Moody Foundation, which raises money for those affected by brain tumours. In this episode, we discuss the importance of brain health and highlight how brain cancer, despite its prevalence, receives the least amount of cancer funding.

This episode is packed with insights on achieving high performance in both sports and life.

    Topic Breakdown:

    • Lewis's upbringing and the discovery of his love for Rugby
    • How Rugby became his full-time career
    • Being a high performer and a specialist in your field
    • Mental strength when it comes to performance
    • 2005 Lewis was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis
    • The impact Ulcerative Colitis had on his life
    • The power of food and how diet cured Lewis's condition
    • His relationship with food
    • Becoming a coach
    • Lewis Moody Foundation
    • Brain Health
