  • On this episode I speak with Ryan Griggs, Medical Science Liaison and Gene Expert with GeneSight a medical company that is changing the way doctors and their patients navigate the mental health medication journey. Ryan explains how the GeneSight test is administered and the way in which medical professionals and patients review the test findings. The genetic test provides a customized guide to which medications may work better for patients and which ones genetically speaking might want to be avoided. The test allows for less trail and error which is often the case when individuals take medication for the first time or need to switch medicine. You can ask your medical provider for the GeneSight test and they can administer the super easy test or provide you with the test to take at home. A simple cheek swab could provide you with a plethora of information you didn't even think was possible.
