    #ReFrameRise is a comprehensive and customized two-year program designed by ReFrame, a Women in Film and Sundance Institute collaboration, to accelerate high-level, sustainable advancement for mid-career talent and is expanding the program to support cinematographers as well as directors. They demonstrate a commitment to developing both above and below-the-line talent, and the urgent need for a cross-industry investment in these roles in which #women remain underrepresented.

    Listen to a lovely interview with ⁠⁠Independent Shakespeare Co⁠⁠ (ISC) ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Owners & Actors David Melville & his wife Melissa started their theater company twenty-five years ago. Today he discusses his passion for theater and creating a sense of community throughout #CoVid19 through Shakespeare. They are in a year-round venue in the Atwater Crossing Complex in Atwater Village and occupy a 65-seat performance venue, the Independent Studio. They also perform 'Shakespeare In The Park" live in Griffith Park and have performed to over 50,000 people each and every summer.

    We will be discussing their premiere of the film they made during the pandemic titled, Live at The Porpentine showcasing at the valleyfilmfest.org.⁠

    In Fall of 2019 the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks broke ground on the Griffith Park Performing Arts Stage Project, a $4 million enterprise to build a permanent stage at their site which is currently under construction. Their performance venue develops new work, explore classical plays, and teach classes to both upcoming starlets and seasoned actors.

    ⁠⁠⁠Independent Shakespeare Co⁠ (iscla.org) ⁠⁠theatre takes the lead in creating collaborations that span racial, cultural, and economic differences, as well as generational and experiential divides. They fully embrace the full range of humanity to create performances that are more vibrant and have greater artistic merit.

    In 2009, ISC received the #HollywoodArtsCouncil Charlie Award. In 2015 recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle highest honor, the #MargaretHarford Award for sustained excellence in theater.
