Clare County Dog Warden Urges Witnesses To Come Forward Following North Clare Bulldog Attack

  • Summary

  • Clare's County Dog Warden is urging witnesses to violent dog attacks to come forward following a serious incident in North Clare last week. A woman in Lisdoonvarna had to have minor injuries treated by ambulance personnel a number of days after after a bulldog ran up behind her and bit her on the legs. The Restricted Dog Breeds list in Ireland includes American Pit Bull Terriers, English Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Bull Mastiffs, meaning they must be muzzled, kept on a short lead, must wear a collar at all times and have to be led by people aged 16 and over. Frankie Coote says dog wardens are powerless to take action against dangerous dogs if people don't cooperate with them.
