  • There's a Secret Internet UNDER the Internet! (w0rldtr33 #1-5)
    Nov 21 2023

If you thought you've seen everything the Internet has to offer...think again. Under your 4Chan boards and Reddit threads lies something so evil, so vile, it wants to destroy and reshape the world in its image. And it's just poked through to the other side.

Introducing WORLDTREE, aka, w0rldtr33 #s 1-5 by James Tynion IV, Fernando Blanco, Jordie Bellaire, and Aditya Bidikar, published by Image Comics.

This horror comic is FULL OF TRIGGER WARNINGS! I had such a hard time finding any panels to feature in the show art and it was few and far between. Be ready for gore, violence, blood, and a lot of nudity. This comic is not for the kiddos.

Learn all about the first story arc from this new horror series to prep for issue #6, dropping this December.

  • Issue 03 - Deadpool: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
    Nov 1 2023

NOTE: I fully give the wrong handles for the show in the episode, please see below for the actual show handles. I'm a doofus!

Deadpool has been a loner, Dottie, a rebel, for most of his life. So what happens when the man with nothing to lose, finds out what he's lost, and what it cost? That's the premise of "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," one of the finest Deadpool stories published!

Wade Wilson teams up with Captain American and Wolverine to take down a villain who has been harvesting Deadpool's organs, and may be taking a lil' nip off the Canucklehead and Star Spangled Avenger as well.

We also get a huge revelation about Wade's life that changes...a LOT.

Plus, this episode is sponsored by Dr. Pym's Bachelor Dinners! Use code ILOVEYOUJANET to get your first week of meals delivered on the house.

This story is a banger, ganger, so strap in and get ready.

  • Issue 02 - Spider-Man: Life Story
    Oct 25 2023

Sometimes superhero comics can be frustrating. As we grow up, we want the chracters to grow alongside us, to not repeat the mistakes they'd made before. We don't really get that with modern superhero stories at the "Big Two."

That's why Spider-Man: Life Story is such an incredible tale. We get to watch Peter grow up in real time, as if he were 15 in 1962 when he was first bitten by the spider.

Today we roll through this story by comics' best boy Chip Zdarsky and iconic Spidey artist Mark Bagley as they show us the life and times of Peter Benjamin Parker.

We'll also talk about what it means to follow a character, how modern advertising created a generational shift in how we consume stories, and one of Steve Ditko's biggest regrets with the ol' Webhead.

We end with a Backup Strip featuring one of my all-time favorite Spider-Man covers.

  • Issue 01 - Nightwing: Leaping Into the Light
    Oct 18 2023

It's the debut issue of Comic Reactions!

Dick Grayson has a history almost as rich as Batman's. Since his debut in Detective Comics #38 we have watched Dick grow from sad orphan into the heart of the DC Universe.

As Nightwing, Dick has seen an increased story focus across the DCU, and in reading Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's run on the character, it's easy to see why.

In this first episode we run through the debut story arc from the duo, Leaping Into The Light, originally published in Nightwing (Vol. 2), #78-83.

Learn more about how Dick is four dimensional, how he outranks Batman in the Golden Age, and what makes this comics run feel like an instant classic.

    ***SPOILERS ABOUND IN THIS EPISODE***

We also take a look at one of Robin's weirdest adventures from the Golden Age in our Backup Strip.

Leaping Into the Light is available on all digital platforms, and on Amazon:
