  • Is Your Heart Dwelling in the Right Things? | Connecting Faith & Life with Mister Brown Ep135
    Apr 11 2026

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to truly "dwell" in God’s Word. It’s more than just reading a verse and moving on; it’s about marinating in it.

In this video, I’m trying out some new production tools while sharing how I personally keep my heart stirred for Christ. Whether I’m driving or working in the studio, I’ve found that listening to Scripture and solid preaching has quite literally saved the direction of my life. I also walk you through some of my favorite apps, like Dwell, that make it easy to keep the Bible playing in your home or car.

Are you letting the world steal your affections, or are you intentionally stirring them for God? Let’s talk about how to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly.

    Questions for personal reflection:

If someone looked at your daily habits, what would they say your heart is currently marinating in?

Think about your environment, your car, your room, or your headphones. Is that environment helping you draw near to God or making it harder?

What is one thing you can change this week to stir your affections for God?

We’d love to hear from you!

  • When Guilt and Shame Keep You Away From God, Do This! | Connecting Faith & Life Ep134
    Apr 4 2026

I’ve been there. I grew up in the church, sang in the choir, and knew all the verses, but my heart was miles away. For a long time, I lived a double life, feeling the weight of guilt and shame every time I stepped through those church doors. If you feel like you’ve drifted too far or that your past is a barrier between you and God, I want to share the invitation that changed everything for me. Join me, as I talk about how to stop hiding and start drawing near to the One who never moved in the first place.

    Questions for personal reflection:

Have you ever felt like you were just "going through the motions" in your faith? What did you do about it?

Rory Vaden said, "You’re most powerfully positioned to serve the person you once were". Who is the "person you once were," and how could your story help someone in that position today?

Out of the five "non-negotiables" mentioned (Bible, Prayer, Church, Community, Repentance), which one do you find the hardest to stay consistent with when you feel distant from God?

We’d love to hear from you!

  • Break Free from Worry: 3 Simple Steps to Lasting Peace | Connecting Faith & Life Ep133
    Mar 28 2026

Honestly? I still have a lot to learn about worry. Jesus tells us straight up in Matthew 6 not to worry about tomorrow, but that’s often easier said than done, right? In this episode of Connecting Faith & Life, I’m digging into the idea that worry is essentially like carrying tomorrow's heavy 25lb dumbbells on today’s shoulders. We’re going to walk through Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount and uncover the Weight of worry, the Witness God gives us in creation, and ultimately, the Way to find peace through seeking Him first.

If you are carrying what is meant for tomorrow today, I pray this message helps you put down those weights and live fully in the grace God has provided for this moment. Are you ready to let go? Watch now and discuss with someone you trust. What’s one tomorrow-weight you can put down today? Let me know in the comments. Peace.

    Questions for personal reflection:

In the video, I use the metaphor of carrying 25lb dumbbells today just to prepare for a workout tomorrow. What is one specific emotional weight (worry) you are currently carrying today that is truly meant for tomorrow?

I make a distinction between "concern" and "worry" (concern is thoughtful preparation and prayer; worry is consuming attempts to control the future). Think of a situation you are currently facing: does your response fall more under the category of concern, or are you living in worry?

Jesus tells us to look at the birds and flowers as "witnesses" of God's care. What specific area of God's provision in your life, big or small, can you look back on as your own "witness" that He will also care for you tomorrow?

I conclude with the thought: "You can't handle tomorrow today. Grace is for today." If you truly believed you had enough grace for only what you face today, how would that change the way you spend your energy and thoughts over the next 24 hours?

We’d love to hear from you!
