  • The plaintiff says her neighbor’s dog lunged at her and ripped her coat. The defendant refuses to cover the cost of the coat, so she’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff is a horrible neighbor who taunts her dog and even tried to kick his dog as she walked by, so his pet was just defending himself. Then, the plaintiff says he bought a granite kitchen countertop from the defendant, but it felt rough, so he complained. He says the defendant told him that was the way it was supposed to be. The plaintiff says the sealant was wrong, so he’s suing. The defendant says he installed it correctly and even went to the plaintiff’s home to fix it but got stood up. He’s countersuing for lost time at work. Plus, the plaintiff says she rented a guesthouse from the defendant’s mother for 10 years, but her son succeeded in kicking her out after his mother died. She’s suing for her security deposit. The defendant says the plaintiff stopped paying rent when she was going through a nasty divorce, and that made his mother feel unsafe.
