CJ graduated with his Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University majoring in Accounting while also competing for the Wrestling team there. He went on to serve as a graduate assistant at the College of New Jersey for the wrestling team as he completed his MBA from CMU as well. While working on his masters, CJ also continued to compete as an Olympic hopeful for the New Jersey Regional Training Center (Princeton & Rutgers).
