  • S1 E1: The Death of Michelle O'Connell
    Mar 23 2020
Michelle O’Connell was shot to death on September 2, 2010 after arguing with her boyfriend, St Johns Sheriff’s Office Deputy, Jeremy Banks’. The weapon that delivered the fatal shot was Jeremy’s police-issued firearm. Jeremy then made a disturbing 9-1-1. After a short investigation, her death was officially ruled a ‘suicide.’ Subsequent official investigations did not change this conclusion. Eight years later, a private citizen named Eli Washtock, began investigating Michelle’s death, but before he could finish, he was murdered. ----- A special thanks to: Our executive producer Advertisecast Ruby Rose Fox for allowing us to use her song, “Bury the Body,” during our intro. Mar 30 2020
On January 31, 2019, Eli Washtock, an amateur sleuth looking into Michelle O’Connell’s death, was murdered in his condo.  A neighbor says that Washtock feared for his life. Prior to his murder, he told people he had a run-in with St Johns County Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Banks.  A neighbor says that Washtock feared for his life. “He knew that somebody was coming for him, so he rented the place downstairs, didn’t tell anybody, let his kids stay there,” Alec Laughlin said. “So he knew it was coming.”  Michelle O’Connell’s mother Patty, says that this was “a planned killing.”  John Taylor and Javier Leiva retrace Eli Washtock’s investigation to figure out what he learned and if his murder has any connection to Michelle O'Connell’s death.  A special thanks to: Our executive producer Advertisecast Ruby Rose Fox for allowing us to use her song, “Bury the Body,” during our intro.
