  • Ep 11: Elias (finally) downs Farag
    Jun 23 2024

Stuart and Jamie break down Diego Elias' World Championship semifinal win over Ali Farag - the first time Elias had secured a (non-conceded) victory over Farag in 20 occasions.

We analyse what Elias did differently this time around, as the Peruvian steered a course to the World Championship title in Cairo - keeping the ball away from Farag's volley, attacking from deep, and finding space into the back corners when the chance presented itself.

  • Ep 8: Options from the Front Left, Part 2
    Dec 17 2023

Jamie and Stuart break down players' options from the front left area of the court, looking at which PSA players counter drop the most, who hits to deep successfully, who uses height well, and which players intercept opponents' shots from this region more than most.

We look at the benefits of the defensive counter drop, and what distinguishes a Paul Coll style drop shot from a Karim Abdel Gawad one, and we touch on why Nouran Gohar is such an outlier in this regard.

  • Ep 6: Johnny Williams
    Oct 10 2023

Jamie and Stuart sit down with former PSA player turned SquashTV pundit Johnny Williams to discuss his passion for breaking down squash matches.

We discuss Johnny's penchant for numbers, powers of recall and analysis, where stats in squash are heading and what squash can learn from Johnny's other sporting love: Australian Rules Football.

Johnny explains what he understands by the notion of control in a squash rally and how we might measure it, we touch upon his favourite memories from on the court and behind the mic, and he divulges the one Cross Court Analytics metric that he'd use above all others.
