    Karen Swallow Prior has been a professor of English at Liberty University for twenty-one years specializing in 18th century British literature, and she will be leaving Liberty to join the faculty of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary this fall. Her colorful commentaries on culture, literature, theology, and politics have been featured in the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Washington Post, Christianity Today, and the Gospel Coalition. Dr. Prior has penned a few widely acclaimed books: most recently, “On Reading Well: Finding the Good Life in Great Books,” “Booked: Literature in the Soul of Me,” and “Fierce Convictions: The Extraordinary Life of Hannah More – Poet, Reformer, Abolitionist.” She is a member of the Faith Advisory Council of the Humane Society of the United States and was a research fellow with the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
