• Church and State
    Oct 12 2020
We're less than 30 days from the election. Every presidential election is high stakes, but this one stands out in recent history. Reverend Wendy Hamilton is today's guest. She was part of Andrew Yang's presidential campaign, but she's voting for Biden with only Biden and Trump remaining. We talk about the relationship between church and state, as well as the importance of voting.  Host: Alex Hollingsworth Guest: Reverend Wendy Hamilton Crossover Media powers the Crossover Podcast. • NC Central Director of Player Development Carl Little
    Aug 17 2020
Carl Little, Director of Player Development at North Carolina Central University, is with me after he put out a call on social media for alumni to send $240 each to the athletic departments of their respective alma maters.  Those of us who grew up watching A Different World or had a family member attend an HBCU always had a special place in our hearts for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. They welcomed us with open arms when predominately white schools weren't so kind unless you could catch a football or dunk a basketball. For all of the prestige of Howard, Spelman, Hampton, and others, HBCU's have always struggled with generating the same kind of income as their counterparts. • CEO of The Professional Collegiate League Ricky Volante
    Aug 10 2020
The NCAA and its member colleges have drawn heavy criticism for not paying college athletes. College athletics earn $14 billion annually, yet athletes aren't allowed to profit. Today, CEO of The Professional Collegiate League Ricky Volante joins me.  Ricky, along with some intelligent and thoughtful leaders, including former NBA Allstar and Champion David West, are building a professional basketball league that will not only pay its athletes but provide them with scholarships to attend college.  Guest: Ricky Volante Host: Alex Hollingsworth Follow Crossover on Twitter and Instagram Support our business with Patreon.
