He started racing BMX in 1990, and after a long and successful pro career he took a break from it all. But like so many of us riding is in our blood, and after BMX became an Olympic Sport he came back to racing, rejoined the amateur ranks and is still going strong today. And when he’s not racing, he’s coaching and mentoring our youth. We had an awesome and enlightening sit down with Local BMX Local Legend Mark Jackson. This week we sat down with Asa Shoemaker and her two pet birds Sqeables and Cinder. Asa shared her journey from kid on a BMX bike in Woodstock, NY to a Folsom, CA based XC racer turned downhiller. While still a bad ass on a bike these days her focus is on race course design & promotion for Folsom Rodeoccross, CX at Bariani, W. Sac CX and the Prairie City Mountain Bike Race Series. And through her BABOB (Bad Ass Bitches on Bikes) Life she's a mentor to riders helping them improve their skills to race better and ride more safely.

Danny and I have been friends for just about a decade now and I'm so thrilled to be able to share his story with you all. From very humble beginnings in Hungary to traveling the world competing in BMX and doing BMX shows working with impressionable kids to deliver a message about hard work, discipline, kindness, and the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Oh yeah and he also appeared on 2 seasons of a huge reality show in Hungary called Exatlon. He even won the All Star edition. He has had a very successful, full filled life and is incredibly driven.
