  • Who Is DJ Mabena? DJ Mabena, Real name Dimpho Komane, is a Club & Radio Dance DJ born and bred in South Africa, Pretoria. Pretoria is one of South Africa’s capital cities and is a cultural hub of entertainment from music, fashion to lifestyle and a unique language, simply known as S’pitori. DJ Mabena began his career as a DJ in around late 2018 inspired by the likes of DJ Dinho, DJ Sumbody, Kabza De Small and many more. His Career, Achievements & Awards The DJ envisions himself gigging and touring locally/globally pushing the ‘South African Amapiano Music Culture’ to many individuals out there and there is no doubt that he brings out the heat with his mixing hence he goes by the stage name DJ Mabena, “FIRE” always burning up the decks when performing. He has achieved several achievements throughout his career as a DJ from being nominated for numerous awards such as the (2019 - Best Newcomer Of The Year) hosted by City Awards and having to have played at some of Johannesburg’s greatest and biggest events curated by promoters such as the likes of The Gauteng Summer Cup, U-Party SA and More Entertainment. Amongst his other achievements the DJ has had an honor to be featured and perform on lineups that include of South Africa’s biggest talented DJs and Artists throughout his career from the likes of Kabza De Small, Major League Djz, TxC, Abidoza, Timo ODV and Costa Titch. DJ Mabena has also worked on a residency gig on one of South Africa’s best campus radio station (UJFM 95.4) as a Radio DJ for a show called the #UJfmDrive Bumper to Bumper Mix.
