  • Science, Myth, and Madness: The 241st Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying
    Sep 4 2024

In this 241st in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this week’s episode, we discuss food, science, and myth. Research out of Tufts University three years ago created the Food Compass—a new guide to what is healthy that rivals the Food Pyramid for sheer lunacy. Advising us that Froot Loops and Pringles are healthier choices than meat and eggs, the authors of that research are now promoting ESG + Nutrition, in which their Food Compass informs governments and private enterprise on how to get the population of the world to follow along. Then: What is history, what is myth, and when is it appropriate to stop talking and be quiet already? Real figures from history—Jesus, King David, Churchill—are also mythic; to what degree do the myths verge from the reality, and what are the conditions under which we are obliged to care? Also mentioned: the Censorship Industrial Complex, Pathological Noble Liars, and Dumbledore’s Army. Finally: a few words on the death of Paul Harrell, who advocated for the responsible use of firearms.

  • Widespread Problems in Biology: Dr. Joomi Kim on DarkHorse
    Aug 31 2024

Bret speaks with Dr. Joomi Kim on the discovery that some of the processes biologists use are not what they believe they are and the implications this could potentially have on science. Dr. Joomi Kim is a molecular biologist and author of the Substack, Let’s Be Clear where she challenges the mainstream narratives about COVID-19.

Please note, Dr. Kim offers the following correction: “While describing the steps of western blots it may have sounded like antibodies get added before the blotting step (when proteins are transferred from gel to membrane). Antibodies are added after the blotting step."

  • Bread & Circuses: The 240th Evolutionary Lens with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying
    Aug 28 2024

In this 240th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we talk about the state of the world through an evolutionary lens.

In this week’s episode, we discuss joy and the Democratic Party. Who is sending all the texts asking for money to support the democrats, and what are they actually trying to accomplish? Discussion of push polls and push texts, bread and circuses, ponies and balloons. Also: the party of science doesn’t understand science. And: why did RFK Jr. talk to the Harris campaign? Finally: actual joy, mixed with sadness, as our children leave home. Why parenting is the most amazing job you can have, and how any population that forgets that is at risk of losing the plot, if it hasn’t already.

Great Podcast

The podcast is very informational; scientific data with a human touch. Love you guys! I barely heard of you a few months ago from the Joe Rogan interview and I immediately found you on Spotify and I wait for all of your podcasts now. I am very happy to have stumbled across you. You two are real in a very upside down world. God bless you and yours.

Some interesting stuff

Check his wikipedia page for more information about this most interesting podcaster. Glad there are contrarians out there presenting alternative views, but it is always a good idea to check the primary sources. I'd especially recommend the TWIV podcast for information about viruses and ivermectin in particular since these are actual virologists who know their stuff.

The Truth

It’s refreshing to hear doctors and scientists tell the truth somewhere. Thank you to Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying for having the guts to tell The Truth. I will forever be in your debt.

Great comfort in hearing their podcast

Even though topic matter can be tense, Bret and Heather are some of the most eloquent, compassionate and courageous journalists we have the good fortune to have access to. They are exceptionally driven by integrity and in so doing are inspiring for listeners, especially after so many others have buckled to the dictates of the media.

Bret and Heather Are Absolutely Illuminating

Bret and Heather are two incredibly smart and well intentioned scientists who shine a light on the scientific world, and help us who are not involved understand the struggles and politics that play underneath the cover of science. They examine papers and hypothesis that for some reason get ignored by the mainstream, and ask questions that are both intriguing and worrisome. Of all my podcasts this one I feel keeps me the most educated, and helps me see the world of science from a less pedestrian point of view.

Intelligent and profound source of real and important information

Thank you Bret. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for all the work you are doing broadcasting such important information that most people don’t have access to, or time to find, or even the ability to dissect. I share this with everyone and I hope more people tune into DHP. Mahalo nui

Non-corrupt information distributor

While Dr. Weinstein is an individual with an idiosyncratic perspective, the content of this podcast should serve as a model of careful, thoroughly reasonable, information distribution; a practice all too rare in contemporary US.
