  • Upside Down Kingdom | Mark | Part 5 | The Dirt on Discipleship | Chris Voigt
    Jul 2 2025

Whispers are subtle, gentle, subdued. But they can also be powerful... if you lean in and really listen! As we come to our study in the gospel of Mark this week, we find Jesus interacting with His followers in a new way - a quiet, gentle and unexpected way. A way that was designed to make you lean in and pay attention. But not everyone was ready or willing to listen. I invite you to join us this Sunday at 11 AM. You'll find us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or connect with us via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, come worship with us in person! Enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation with friends, old or new, in the Lobby before the service. We would love to get to know you. We do know that 11 AM on Sunday doesn't work for everyone. If that's you, the service will be available on-demand, so you can watch at a time that works better for your schedule. Come... join us this Sunday. We look forward to seeing you!

  • Upside Down Kingdom | Mark | Part 4 | Redefining Family | Chris Voigt
    Jun 25 2025

The Chosen has become an international sensation. It's available in more than 50 different languages, in countries all around the world. And whether you know what it's about or not, doesn't the title alone pique your interest? I mean, don't we all want to be chosen? Humans are wired for belonging. We're designed for community. We all want to be desired, known, and loved... to be chosen. We are about a quarter of the way through our summer study, Upside Down Kingdom: The Gospel According to Mark. This week, we find Jesus picking teammates to be part of His inner circle. Except, He doesn't exactly pick the cream of the crop. Instead, it seems more like He's scraping the bottom of the barrel! Jesus chooses the rejected, the outcast, the traitor, and the skeptic. He surrounds Himself with those who have been passed over or left out - the ones who didn't quite measure up. And He invites them to belong. In doing so, He establishes a new kind of family - one where the misfits and marginalized can find a home. And so can you. Come... join our Dayspring family. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

    Jun 18 2025

Do you remember life before cell phones? Or email or the internet? Did you ever use traveler's checks or money orders? How about cameras? Kodak Brownie? Instamatic? Polaroid? 35mm? Change is inevitable. And often, it's beneficial! Yet many, if not most of us resist change, even when what's new is better than the old. Change is uncomfortable. In fact, if doing something new or trying a new way doesn't feel awkward at first, you're probably not doing it right! Often, change feels like a loss. We like what we know, even if it's not working very well. As we pick up our study in Mark's gospel this week, we find Jesus continuing to ruffle the feathers of the religious leaders. Jesus' way of doing things breaks all the rules of their religious game. And they are not happy about it. The old ways are just fine, thank you very much. There's no need to change things... or is there? -----------------------------------

    Jun 10 2025

Everyone knows... Humpty Dumpty had a problem. He was broken beyond repair. Scrambled beyond saving. Not even the most capable of men could put the pieces back together and restore him to wholeness. As we come to our study in Mark's gospel this week, we find Jesus engaging with the broken in His world. And the good news for them, and for us, is that He is more than capable of bringing healing and restoring wholeness to the sick, broken, and wounded places of our lives. Nothing is beyond His ability to unscramble. -----------------------------------

    Jun 5 2025

Summertime is made for adventure. And adventure comes in a myriad of flavors. Perhaps you like your adventures Disney-flavored. Or maybe you prefer outdoorsy adventures... camping, water skiing, or hiking in the mountains. Perhaps beach vibes are more your style. The feel of sand between your toes, playing tag with the ocean, and the salty breeze on your skin. As the school year comes to a close, we're standing on the cusp of a new season and there are adventures to be had! As a church family, we begin a new adventure through the Gospel of Mark this Sunday. This summer series which we've entitled Upside Down Kingdom, will take us on an exploration of Jesus' ministry through Mark's gospel. Mark uses the word "immediately" more than 40 times in this shortest of the four gospels. His writing is fast-paced and action-packed. So strap in and hold on! I invite you to join us this Sunday at 11 AM. You'll find us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or connect with us via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, come worship with us in person! Enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation in the Lobby before the service. We do know that 11 AM on Sunday doesn't work for everyone. If that's you, the service will be available on-demand, so you can watch at a time that works better for your schedule. Come join us this Sunday. We're excited to adventure with you!

  • Don’t Call Me A Christian | Part 5 | More Than Belief | Chris Voigt
    May 29 2025

We are wrapping up our series "Don't Call Me a Christian - When the Label Doesn't Match the Life" this Sunday. Over the past month, we've been looking deeply at the differences between cultural Christianity and being a committed Christ-follower. Along the way, we've considered the implications that believing in Jesus has for our lives. Because believing is more than just an intellectual assent to a set of historical facts. Believing calls us to something; it demands a response. More than agreement, it's engagement. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life..." Jesus calls us to so much more than just belief.

  • Don’t Call Me A Christian | Part 4 | More Than A Checklist | Chris Voigt
    May 21 2025

"What's on your list today?" Anybody remember that ad slogan from years ago? Do you hear the implication in the question? You have a list - of one kind or another. Perhaps it is a grocery list. Or maybe it's a bucket list, a wish list, a to-do list or a honey-do list. Kids make their Christmas lists, hoping they'll be in the 'Nice' column on Santa's list! There are Top Ten lists, Top 100 lists, All Time Greatest lists, and the list could go on and on. What is it with our obsession with lists? We are in week four of our series, Don't Call Me a Christian - When the Label Doesn't Match the Life. We're looking at the difference between cultural Christianity and being a committed Christ-follower. For many of us, our list-making tendencies have impacted how we live out our faith. But Jesus didn't call us to a checklist, He called us to a relationship. Just checking the boxes won't cut it. (Pulled pork not included.) We'll see you on Sunday!

  • Don’t Call Me A Christian | Part 3 | More Than Comfortable | Chris Voigt
    May 15 2025

According to the internet, a "comfort zone" is a place - physical or psychological - where a person feels safe, known, in control, with minimal stress or anxiety. We all have those places and a lot of us do all we can to make sure we don't have to go out of them! In our culture, being comfortable is synonymous with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And who doesn't want that? But is that really what Jesus has called us to? We are in week three of our series, Don't Call Me a Christian - When the Label Doesn't Match the Life. We're unpacking the differences between cultural Christianity and what it looks like to be a committed Christ-follower. We're figuring out how what we believe impacts who we are - in real life ways that make us clearer representations of Jesus. I invite you to join us this Sunday at 11 AM. You'll find us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or connect with us via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, get out of your comfort zone and come worship with us in person! Arrive early and enjoy coffee, cookies and conversation in the Lobby. We do know that 11 AM on Sunday doesn't work for everyone. If that's you, the service will be available on-demand, so you can watch at a time that works better for your schedule. We'll see you on Sunday!
