  • San Antonio is home for Derrick, after 4 years in the league, he has signed a contract extension, purchased a home, and has gotten married. Now he sits down with Jaron who was drafted by the Spurs with him in 2017 and who won a G League championship with him in 2018. Friends today who share a life long bond.    Coming into the Spurs organization Derrick was nervous to meet Coach Pop, but soon found that this man wasn’t only a giant on the court, but also always provided perspective off as well. In San Antonio basketball is bigger than the game.  The organization prides itself on development, from top to bottom all are connected. Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili are all legends and Derrick and Jaron having the experience to learn from them is special.     Derrick touches on some of his prior teammates like DeMar DeRozan and Kawhi Leonard both who are great in their own regard. Every season has had its wins, which is why it’s tough to pick one season to date as his favourite.   From James Harden to Steph Curry the NBA is so talented, Derrick talks about some of the toughest players in the league he’s had to defend.
