    On this week’s bitesize episode, Andrew touches on the last of the old crop wheat coming onto the market after stores are finally being emptied. He also gives an insight as to how valuable this week’s weather has been on Norfolk’s wheat and spring barley crops.


    Andrew gives a brief overview of grain values and the issues surrounding the lack of current markets prior to harvest. Andrew is in the short term bearish to current market conditions but mentions that he is optimistic of crop sizes which is ultimately more important.


    Andrew gives an overview of current hot topics such as the upcoming US and UK elections. He is keen to drive home the importance of the younger generations making sure they get their votes in too!

    Andrew and Ben discuss the hot topic of penalty rents for futures wheat. Dewing grain has done its upmost to keep penalty rent prices fair however stores do need to be emptied and cleaned at some point!


    Of course, the boys had to talk about England’s questionable performance against Denmark. Followed by Ben touching on changes affecting some farmers on BPS.

    In this week’s episode, Andrew ambushes south Norfolk farmer Rob Alexander. Firstly, the pair place their bets on when they think the start of harvest will be. They then take turns to say where they believe the markets are going and discuss in depth, this coming harvests "wild farmed Wheat" as seen on “Clarkson’s Farm”. Andrew elaborates on the ever - growing fear of ergot in the upcoming wheat crop with the abundance of rain we have had recently. We also get an insight as to how “strip till” has changed the way Rob farms these days.
