Ecclesiastes 1:9 says: “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done again, and there is nothing new under the sun”. The Lord is telling us to pay attention to the whole scheme of what is happening around us nationally, because one of the greatest life experience is the ability to gain wisdom and understanding from observing the mistakes of others and nations as examples for us; they were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age - that’s us. The Bible says, you will repeat if you don't know or don’t pay attention. As it is written in 1 Corinthians chapters 8, 9, and 10: God's intent was that each generation would pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation because those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat history. Don't forget what happened to our ancestors who had all of God’s Favor and yet they still grumbled!

The object lesson about the Fig Tree - Hypocrisy or Fruitfulness
As a thoughtful disciple, we must surely ask ourselves is this tree symbolic of me? Am I fruitless? Am I like the tree Jesus encountered that tree had a whole bunch of leaves, it looked good, but in reality, it had no fruit. Is it symbolic of my house? My church? Is it symbolic of America? The Fig tree, a tree that looked good but it was not producing what it was created to produce, fruit. We can do all kinds of things to look good, can't we? But the question from the Lord to each of us, are we allowing the Holy Spirit to produce the right type of fruits in our lives – the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – the nine character qualities that are absolutely desirable and necessary in our life? The Lord is saying it's time to lay down the hypocrisy. It's time to be real. Time is so short and if we are his Children we must bear His Fruit, NOW.

This message warns us to be discerning about what we hear and what we see, less we fall into that position of being deceived…this is a very different serious message. Pastor Kennedy reminds us that each message is building toward the coming of the Lord…for all of the messages are preparing us to meet Him. The Lord says, KNOW, that there is a spirit of deception that has invaded this nation and even invaded some in the Body of Christ. The spirit of deception has deployed demonic troops to harass, intimidate, destabilize, and destroy the warriors of the Living God, but it will not succeed if we stand firm in God’s Word and respect His boundaries. We need to wake up and walk in the authority and guidance of the Lord, be really truthful to God in His Word, not be an easy take by the world to compromise, not let satan fill our hearts with jealousy, and definitely not lie to the Holy Spirit. The question is are we really who we say we are, or are we just playing church? You are encouraged to listen with a heart towards repentance.

Paul says in Romans 12:1, “Therefore, I urge you brethren by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship”. All true worship is essentially a matter of the Heart, an expression of our own greatest treasure, which is the gift of knowing the Lord and walking through life with Him. Worship is a way of life that is expressed inwardly toward Him and outwardly testifies of Him – so touched by Him that people we encounter should see Him in our lives. The question we all need to ask ourselves, “Is my worship only external and my heart dimension does not really lean internally towards Him, where you cry out, “had it not been for the Lord”? True worship involves every part of your spirit, soul and body! Maybe you are not aware that He wants to change and transform you, where its purpose is to put Him on display through the way you live, the way you conduct your life, so that others would be drawn to Him, by what they see in you. Again, the question is asked, “do YOU want to become more like Jesus”?

Church, the walk of victory is a challenge! A challenge because we have an enemy who is absolutely determined to steal, kill, and destroy our relationship with God through temptations and trials. Temptation is a fact of life and a force that all of us have to deal with. But the wonderful news of the Gospel is that there is ONE who has gone before us, faced every temptation that we will ever face, and conquered the enemy completely. Temptation in itself is not sin, it's an invitation to sin. The enemy wants to take as many people to hell as he possibly can. He is a cunning, adversary who will do whatever is necessary to derail us from walking in the victory that Jesus has provided for us. Church it is extremely important that we be wise about the way the devil works, so that you do not get caught up in any of his crazy schemes. We can walk in victory, we can refuse the temptations of the enemy, not in our own strength, but because of the One who saved us, redeemed us and who is constantly praying for us.
