A turbulent family drama about an overbearing mother and a son trying to find himself. Sarah Delano Roosevelt (mother of the president) is interviewed after the story. The play opens in a tiny studio apartment in downtown New York owned by Stella and Vicky Hallam. Stella has just returned from the office and Vicky is somewhat annoyed because she should have remembered they were supposed to be going to his Mother’s apartment for dinner. The truth is, Stella and her Mother in law don’t hit off too well and yet she’s quite fond of her Father in law.

Story -- After the army payroll has been robbed, an army Major threatens to declare martial law in Dodge. Connie Dell, a good girl keeping bad company, becomes the key to the crime. The script was used previously on the program on May 31, 1952 and October 8, 1955 and on the Gunsmoke television series on May 24, 1958. The program opening and closing have been deleted.
