  • Having a Constant & Can You Help the New Supply?
    Jun 5 2024
This episode unpacks the book Psychopath Free by Jackson MacKenzie. You can grab a copy HERE. This seemed like the perfect content as follow up to World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day on June 1st. Ginny shares some of the key components from this book, including the red flags of being in a relationship with a psychopath, narcissist or sociopath. The author includes a comprehensive list of 30 in the book! Some other key highlights are pulling out some terminology that's used by the author that we haven't covered here before, such as having a constant, cognitive dissonance, word salad, flying monkeys and the crazy ex! What's great about this book is that it focuses a lot on becoming whole again through trauma recovery and healing after encountering these dangerous personalities. While it may be tempting to reach out to the new supply, think about putting yourself in the idealization phase and thinking you've met the love of our life, would you be receptive to believing it? Keep in mind, there's no timeline for grief or recovering from this type of abuse. The author also highlights the 30 signs of strength. A few of these are having compassion, taking accountability, apologizing, and being forgiving. Part of the healing process includes cognitive defusion. This means acknowledging your emotions and not dismissing the difficulties in life. This allows you to choose to move towards living more consistently in joy, peace and enlightenment.
