    ¡Aprendamos español!

    (Let’s learn Spanish)

Hello there, after being asked by many people to launch my podcast in other languages, I got the idea to share Spanish lessons, I have studied Spanish Grammar and Spanish Diction in different schools, in different parts of the world and I consider myself strong enough to guide someone to learn Español.

    But First things first:

When we are learning to communicate the most important aspect of the language we want to learn is the pronouns, their purpose and their job in the language we are trying to learn. Because Spanish unlike English does use the genre distinction with subjects and modifying adjectives.

    First person in Singular

Yo.- it is a strong sound of “J” and “o” for a sound like Joe

The next pronoun is the second person in singular:

Tu.- it is a sound almost like number 2, but not strong, because we don’t use “t” sound, the t sound is Spanish is really dry and short like in "tutu".

The next one is the third person in singular in male:

El.- which is simple and plain the sound of “L” (ex. El taco, el niño, el carro)

    Third person in feminine:

Ella, which is a mix of the vocals “a” & “o” and the sound of ‘j” in the middle.

Eso, o esa In Spanish we refer to animals or things with the genre they belong to, example:

El carro.- The car. // ese carro

La luna.- The moon. // esa luna

The following are the plural pronouns and same way as the singular denote the genre of the pronoun.

    First person in plural form:

Nosotros.- We, for males or both genres.

    Nosotras.- We for females ONLY.

    Second person in plural form:

Ustedes,- You in plural (this does not have specific genre)

    Third person in plural form:

Ellos.- They for males and also for both genres

    Ellas.- They for females ONLU.

Note the difference from second person of tu, (you) singular form, from ustedes (you), Plural form.

Because this is a direct form of communication, you always know which one you are using, for example if you are talking to just one person, then you are going to use tu, but if you are talking to more than one person then the pronoun changes from tu to “Ustedes”

After learning the personal pronouns, you will make a little bit of sense of how the verbs are conjugated in present, past and future tense.

For easier learning we will use the most common verbs in present tense be aware that these verbs are also auxiliary in conjugating verbs in past and future tense.

Ser.- this verb literally translates to the verb “to be” related to who the subject is, “to be at” related to location where the subject is, or “to be in” describing the subject in English.

    Yo soy, o estoy

    Tu eres, o estas

    El es, o esta

    Ella es, o esta

    Eso, esa es, o esta

Nosotros somos, o estamos Nosotras, somos o estamos

    Ustedes son, o estan

Ellos son, o están Ellas son, o estan.

This conjugation form is present in almost every conversation.

The following verb is hacer, which literally translates to do.

    Yo hago,

    Tu haces,

    El hace,

    Ella hace,

    Eso, esa hace,

    Nosotros hacemos,

    Ustedes hacen,

    Ellos hacen.

The next verb is poder, which means can or being able to do an action.

    Yo puedo,

    Tu puedes,

    El puede,

    Ella puede,

    Eso, esa puede

    Nosotros Podemos,

    Ustedes pueden,

    Ellos pueden.

Once you dominate these 3 verbs, you can structure short sentences, and it will be very easy for you to start making 3- and 4-words phrases.

Gracias por aprender Español, hasta la proxima!

  • El amor de un Padre...
    May 29 2024

  • The strong force of a Father's Love
    May 27 2024

I always saw my dad as a hero, not only because he saved me but also because when I left the house at age 19 to live my own life, he told me: I love you daughter, I want you to be happy and be free, but if you ever have a hardship and you find yourself hungry, hurt and no where else to go this is your house, you will always be welcome here my daredevil with flowers on her hair.

Here is to all Dads who made their sons and daughters believe in themselves and chase their dreams, salute to you and Happy Father’s Day.

If you like this podcast, please share it with your network, it would be awesome to have more people connecting through love everyday in this agitated world.

Once again I appreciate you lending me an ear.

This was all for today and I want to remind you that the way you love and respect yourself teaches others to love and respect you.

    With Love...
