E2 - Imagination or Reality

  • Summary

  • Today’s episode topic is “imagination or reality.” It is grounded on the quote from Seneca where he argues that, “we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” In this episode, I make connections between the idea of improving the quality of our thoughts (Marcus Aurelius) through Stoicism, a philosophy of action, and the idea that we suffer more from imagination than reality (Seneca). I guess what I am trying to communicate is that if we make philosophy part of our lives and we train ourselves to quiet negative thoughts we should be able to focus on building relationships, enjoying life, and we will be open to exploring and learning new things.
