  • Summary

  • Human trafficking is defined by the U.S. State Department “as a crime whereby traffickers exploit and profit at the expense of adults or children by compelling them to perform labor or engage in commercial sex. When a person younger than 18 is used to perform a commercial sex act, it is a crime regardless of whether there is any force, fraud, or coercion involved.”

    We call it slavery.

In this episode we talk about a federal prosecution of a North Carolina man who was convicted of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and of a minor; sex trafficking by force fraud and coercion; sex trafficking of a minor; using the internet to promote a prostitution business enterprise (ITAR); and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

This case is horrible. Human trafficking is horrible. We must do everything we can to #EndHumanTrafficking. You can call the National Human Trafficking Hotline for help 24/7 at 1-888-373-7888 or text 233733.
