• Ground into Rising Spring Energy and Changing Times
    Mar 19 2024

As we move into the spring season and the energy of a lunar and solar eclipse, many of us may be feeling less grounded and more challenged by accelerating and changing times. In this episode Heather discusses the natural increase in activation we feel at this time and how to keep it balanced and unstuck to prevent anger, restlessness, and reactivity to take over opportunities of hope, growth, and excitement. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and a short meditation.

    Quotes:

“No Mud no lotus!”- Thich Nhat Hanh

IN THE QUIET OF THIS PLACE -Dennis Warren

Bring the fear and the shame the misery and the pain.

Bring every thing you suspect is dangerous or impure.

Bring every broken vow, disappointment and despair.

But also bring the hope of hearing your true voice, of touching your true nature.

In the quiet of this place, in the stillness of your heart, you are safe.

There is no need to hide any more.

    If you listen, listen deeply,

If you wait, wait without wanting

Your true voice will speak to you,

A hand from your own heart will reach out to you.

  • Free Yourself with Forgiveness
    Feb 20 2024

This episode discusses the power of Forgiveness to set yourself free from negative thought patterns, old stories, difficult emotions, and stagnation. We can offer forgiveness to ourselves and others in order to release the past and clear space for the present. Forgiveness is offered as a gift to ourselves and does not necessarily condone behavior or need to be expressed to others. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and a short meditation.

    Quotes:

"That which I was not but could have been. That which I would have done but did not do. Can I find the fortitude to remember in truth, to understand, to submit, to forgive and to be free to move on in time?"- Martin Luther King Jr

    Ho’oponopono Prayer

    I'm sorry

    Please forgive me

    Thank you

    I love you

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.” ~Steve Maraboli

"Forgive everything that has ever happened. Life is everything we can imagine, Laid out in patterns of pain and passion, You cannot control it so keep your compassion.

There are no accidents, And there are no factions. There is no "us" and "them". Nothing to borrow or lend. No enemy or friend. And only forgiveness can make that happen.

The only battle worth the fight. From the Rwandan Genocide to the Seven Sisters forgiving Orion For how he chases them across the skies every night. Forgiveness is for giving. So give yourself this gift from time to time. And let all of your mistakes, Become all of your greatest gifts in disguise." - Trevor Hall

  • New You, New Year, and a New Beginning
    Dec 21 2023

In this Podcast, Heather guides you through an extended inquiry to review, release, and honor 2023. You will take a moment for each month to acknowledge its challenges and blessings. Once 2023 has been put behind us, we can open up with intentions to receive what most matches us in our highest potential in the upcoming year. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and a short meditation.

    Quotes:

"Take down all your troubles and wrap up your regret,

Tie them to the rays of light the sun sheds as it sets.

Whisper all that was to fleeting seconds as they pass,

But hold into your hope for something new is here at last.Beg your own forgiveness and grant it in one breath,

Lay the year down softly as it waits to face its death.

Then sit with eyes turned skyward as the night-time comes alive,

All that's been is over and a new year has arrived."

    -Erin Hansen

“Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better, it’s about befriending who we are." – Ani Pema Chodron

    For a New Beginning

In out of the way places of the heart,

Where your thoughts never think to wander

This beginning has been quietly forming,

Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,

Feeling the emptiness grow inside you

Noticing how you willed yourself on,

Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety

And the grey promises that sameness whispered,

Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,

Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,

And out you stepped onto new ground,

Your eyes young again with energy and dream,

A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not clear,

    You can trust the promise of this opening;

Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning

That is one with your life’s desire.

    Awaken your spirit to adventure

Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk

Soon you will be home in a new rhythm

For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

    -John O’Donahue

  • Happy Holidays?
    Dec 19 2023

In this Podcast, Heather encourages us to be fully aware of what the holiday season is bringing us this year; including the challenges. When we meet the holidays with Mindfulness and notice how we are actually feeling and where there is difficulty, we create space for more authentic expressions of joy, peace, love, and gratitude. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and meditation.

    Quotes

"Fully experiencing our own hurt is the gateway to compassion toward other human beings. Feelings of loss, abandonment, loneliness, and fear are universal, and, in that sense, all feelings are created equal. Regardless of what leads us to feel the way we do, our comprehension of what it means to be human is deepened by our own experiences. Our personal lives provide us with the material we need to become fully conscious. If we reject our emotions because we think our experiences are not dramatic or important enough, we are missing out on our own humanity. We honor and value the human condition when we fully inhabit our bodies so we can experience and feel life fully. Accepting our emotions and allowing ourselves to feel them connects us to all human beings. Then, when we hear the stories of other people's suffering, our hearts can resonate with understanding and compassion--for all of us." - Madison Taylor

"Challenges are gifts that forces us to search for a new center of gravity. Don't fight them. Just find a new way to stand." - Oprah Winfrey

"I am grateful for my limits that teach me patience and pace

I am grateful for challenge, defeat, and loss

They teach me hope is not a light at the end of the dark tunnel It’s the ember burning within me that I forgot to fan

I am grateful to my teachers for introducing me to myself

I am grateful for my past that has delivered me to my present

I am grateful for all I have found and all I have lost Both remind me I can live with and without

I am grateful for silence and for laughter And for my ears that can hear both

I am grateful to my heart that beats and breaks and heals

I am grateful for the fullness of my life For the brief, heartbreaking, heartwarming fullness of life."  -Jeanie Manchester

  • Top Five Ways to Meet Challenging Times
    Nov 21 2023

In this Podcast, Heather discusses her Top 5 Ways to meet challenging times. This primarily involves meeting ourselves with honest compassionate observation to reveal our deepest needs. When challenges trigger us, they reveal unhealed and unhealthy coping strategies from deep within ourselves. Meeting challenge can become an opportunity for evolution and spiritual deepening when we focus internally rather than on the external. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and meditation.

    Quotes:

“The basic root of happiness lies in our minds; outer circumstances are nothing more than adverse or favorable.” ~Matthieu Ricard

"Never be afraid to fall apart because it is an opportunity to rebuild yourself the way you wish you had been all along." - Rae Smith

“Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening..” – Lisa M. Hayes

“Every criticism, judgment, diagnosis, and expression of anger is the tragic expression of an unmet need.” Peace requires that we develop the skills to recognize the needs, feelings and values that influence our perspective so that we can respond appropriately. Often, we react to situations and people that “push our buttons” instead of recognizing that our emotions are simply a guide to uncovering the unmet needs inside. Instead of looking outwards in blame and judgment, self-awareness helps us see our role in each interaction.”- Marshall Rosenberg

"In the midst of hate, I found there was inside of me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was inside of me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was inside of me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that in the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger- something better, pushing right back." - Albert Camus

  • Calling it What it Is: the Mindfulness of Feeling Tone
    Oct 2 2023

Our behavior may seem unpredictable and uncontrollable to us at times. That comes in part from a lack of awareness and honesty about our initial gut level assessments of how we feel about something. When we bring Mindfulness to how we are registering our feeling towards the moment, we gain clarity on our subsequent thoughts and behaviors; this allows room for change and growth. In this episode, Dr. Rupp will discuss the concept of ‘Feeling Tone’ as a useful Mindfulness tool for staying with and accepting the moments of our lives thus decreasing our stress and reactivity. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and meditation.

    Quotes:

“Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn’t more complicated than that. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it.” ~Sylvia Boorstein

“Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is happening right now without wishing it were different; enjoying the pleasant without holding on when it changes (which it will); being with the unpleasant without fearing it will always be this way (which it won’t).” ~James Baraz

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power and freedom to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our  happiness.” Victor Frankl

  • Life is Messy and So Are You
    Sep 1 2023

Life does not stay clean, in control, static, or predictable. Growth does not follow a linear path. However, many of us hold ourselves and our lives to the impossible expectation that things should be looking and feeling a certain way; clear, improving, steady, and generally the way we think they are supposed to. This unachievable benchmark can lead to negative self-worth, anxiety, depression, and a general lack of satisfaction and enjoyment of our lives. In this episode Heather suggests we shift our perspective away from perfection and towards acceptance of the truth that life is messy. And so are we. And that is more than ok. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and meditation.

  • Aliens Exist and No One Cares
    Jul 31 2023

Congress held a public hearing with established experts which concluded that nonhuman life forms have visited our planet and the executive branch of the government is aware of this. The conclusion comes from validated recordings and eyewitness accounts of inexplicable technologies and investigation of classified materials. There is little reaction or response to this ground breaking event in the mainstream. Heather discusses how this may be partly due to human bias towards things that are self-referential and available. She also discusses the possibility that meditation is a way to communicate with these alien beings and related to the fundamental principle of Mindfulness of ego release and insight. This session includes teachings from Heather, self-inquiry exercises, and meditation.

    Quotes:

"We're going to uncover the cover-up, and I hope this is just the beginning of many more hearings and many more people coming forward about this," said Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee.

"We should have disclosure today. We should have disclosure tomorrow. The time has come," said Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida.

“You never know how much you really believe anything until its truth or falsehood becomes a matter of life and death to you.”― C.S. Lewis

Egocentricity is that constant concern with how I feel, what I think, what I'm doing, what I want - looking at what is and seeing it as inadequate. My identity is maintained by the struggle of wanting something other than what is; that is how I continue to know myself.- Cheri Huber

“The Ego is an exquisite instrument. Enjoy it, use it–just don’t get lost in it.” ~ Ram Dass

"A human being is part of the whole, called by 'Universe'; a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of our consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."- Albert Einstein

“If you stumble about believability, what are you living for? Love is hard to believe, ask any lover. Life is hard to believe, ask any scientist. God is hard to believe, ask any believer. What is your problem with hard to believe?” ― Yann Martel, Life of Pi
