  • Restoried Imagination, Restored Image pt. 1
    Sep 2 2024
In this and following episodes (one of a series), I explore the nature and role of imagination, making the case that it’s a significant and underutilized resource. I unpack why the imagination is integral and influential on the process of personal formation (discipleship) and vocation (purpose) within a Christian worldview. I contend that everyone is invited to ‘co-author’ their life story through the intentional integration of the imagination within the Christian meta-narrative. I also highlight the strategic role the arts play as an enabler of this process, particularly their influence on the generation of fresh perspectives and new possibilities, for growth and the investment of our lives.

  • Courage & Creativity: The Missio Dei & Missional Practice
    Aug 18 2024

In this episode we explore the Mission Dei (the Mission of God), and specific missional practices inspired and informed by it, via the historical account of the apostle Paul's missionary visit to Athens, Greece. While in Athens Paul engages with the most erudite citizens of the city in that time, the Areopagus, and expertly shares the truth of God's love on display in His Son, Jesus Christ, in a clear, courageous, creative, and culturally informed manner. Let's jump in! —>

  • Thin Air and a Clear Perspective / Desire as Fuel for the Journey / Everything is Gift
    Feb 26 2024
**Listen to Jan. 7th, 22nd & Feb. 7th episodes first**. We’re well into 2024, at just the time when, statistically, most people start giving up on their desires and designs for their lives in the New Year. Let’s finish diving into this ebook which helps us explore intentional living that can lead to 'life to the full' this year. In this episode I re-present sections 7, 8 and 9 of an ebook I wrote many years ago entitled, 'Discovering Your Rhythm of Life: Ancient Wisdom for Living the Good Life'. It's a brief exploration of how we can lean into living a free and full life- the life that Jesus already won for us -and offers to us- as we walk and work with Him. Largely inspired by Christian monastic communities over the past millennia and a half, I unpack what beginning to offer all of our lives to God in gratitude, and to others/our world, could look like. This is just the beginning of a continual process of becoming and being God's redemptive agents in His wonderful world.. which will lead you over the edge of the wild! +++ + Special Thanks to.. designer Jonathan Scheele for incredible work, musician Radical Face for use of the tracks "I'll Be There Soon", and "Home Movies" from the album Missing Film, and author J.R.R. Welcome to 2024! Let's lean into a new start with a reboot/relaunch into intentional living which can lead to 'life to the full' in 2024.
