  • David began his career with the Cosmos in 2010, playing for the New York Cosmos Academy Under-18 and Under-23 teams before signing a professional contract with the NASL side in 2013. The first player to graduate from the Cosmos youth academy to the professional squad, he earned a spot on the team that competed against Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2011 in the Paul Scholes testimonial match. A big factor in the Cosmos winning, the 2016 season was his best year as a professional having scored and assisted three times, including an NASL Goal of the Year candidate. Born in Medellin, Colombia, David moved to the United States at 11 years old, growing up in Jackson Heights and attending Martin Luther King High School, the most successful public-school team in New York City.
