Episode 1: Session 9 with Clay McLeod Chapman

  • Summary

  • Hello, horror fans!

It's Launch Day! Episode 1, featuring Clay McLeod Chapman, is now available to listeners. We talk about Clay's chosen formative horror story, Session 9, ambiguity in horror, the terror of well-produced audio, and which horror author could best pull off a James Brown-style performance. Plus, how many times can Clay write a story about another writer and get away with it, and what's the deal with Paul Tremblay?

    Show notes:

    • Session 9 isn't streaming anywhere at the moment, but it is available to rent and buy if you'd like to get in on this action and you haven't already. I'd also recommend the Shout Factory physical release.

    • Clay's newest release is the novelette Stay On The Line from Shortwave Publishing. His next book, the novella Kill Your Darling, hits stores Sept. 24 from Bad Hand Books.

    • Clay's just launched a merch collection with VoidMerch featuring his books, and you can check that out HERE.

Not a horror fan, but still interesting.

Conversation was a little clunky, but that's normal for a brand new podcast. Matthew steers the conversation like a pro and allows his enthusiasm to shine through. Intrigung subject matter even to someone who isn't a horror fan.
