Featuring guests Rev. Emily Phillips and Holly Cowherd

Reverend Emily Phillips is a Nashville native who currently resides in Clarksville, TN. She is retired as a legal assistant for the Social Security Administration for the state of Tennessee and now serves full-time as a counselor and empowerment speaker with W.O.M.B. Ministries.

Rev. Phillips was licensed in ministry in 1990 under the leadership of Rev. Bernard Lafayette Sr at the Progressive M.B. church after which she received licensure in 2003 by the Reverend William R. Jennings Sr at Ebenezer A.M.E. church. She received her ordination under Bishop Harry F. Flemings II at New Jerusalem Christian Center.

Rev. Phillips is the founder of the women's ministry W.O.M.B. (Women Overcoming Many Battles, When Our Men Believe) which is a non-profit organization that she birthed after the murder of her sister. W.O.M.B. offers a ministry of spiritual guidance and job readiness skills that motivate, educate, and empower women and men to help them overcome their battles of low self-esteem, lack of motivation, and unemployment. She has been the vessel overseeing W.O.M.B. since 1999.

Rev. Phillips attended the American Baptist College Seminary where she majored in Theology and Sociology. She received her B.A. in Christian Ministries from Trevecca Nazarene College and is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, The Tennessee Justice and Faith Alliance, Clarksville Montgomery County Community Action Agency, NAACP, Christian Legal Society, as well as many other organizations. She has been chosen as a Virtuous Woman by the Omega Lambda Lambda chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc and is a Certified Cancer Care Ministry Trainer.

She is married to Clifford D. Phillips and is the proud mother of three beautiful adults and five grandblessings.

Holly Cowherd is the Family and Children's Coordinator at the Nashville Rescue Mission - a 24 hour emergency homeless shelter and life recovery center that serves men, women, and children in the Middle Tennessee region. She has been working at the mission for 10 years serving the women and children who come in every day and working with local organizations to achieve solutions toward solving the issue of homelessness.

Originally from Mobile, AL, Holly moved with her family to California as a young teenager and attended Fresno State University in California, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in 2011. She loved serving her community and getting to know, understand, and advocate for all of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

She and her husband Zach moved to Nashville in 2014 and have lived there ever since with their two dogs Olive (as in Olive Oyl from Popeye) and Abbey (as in Abbey Road Recording Studio). She enjoys gardening, taking care of her houseplants, and learning more about nature whenever she can.
