In today’s episode, we begin our discussion on the Heaven’s Gate UFO cult. What better place to begin than the most well known portion of our tale. 

Today we take a look at some of their recruitment tapes from 1996, “Planet Earth about to be Recycled” and “Last Chance to Evacuate Earth before it is Recycled.” These tapes were recorded just months before the cults end. In these tapes the face of the organization, Marshall Herff AppleWhite, pleads with the public to hear his interpretation of the Bible, to shed their earthly connections and follow him to the UFO spacecraft kingdom.

*For context: We watched both videos together so we continuously refer to the tapes as "this tape," singular*
