Join us in this episode as we are joined by Latter Day Saints Cult survivor Heidi Luv to cover her journey through Mormonism and the events that led to her eventual escape from what is portrayed as a religion, but in truth is something much darker and more nefarious beneath the surface that what is presented to the general public.

There has been plenty of focus in recent years regarding the dangers associated with cults and the damage they have done to far too many people seeking nothing more than a little more spirituality in their life. Most who fall victim to their propaganda and charm offensive are people seeking a stronger connection to the divine, and more often than not are in a vulnerable position at that point in their life where they can be easily manipulated. We’ve seen plenty of accounts over the years of disturbing cases where people were taken in by dangerous groups, and in a lot of cases the victims of cult abuse are unfortunate souls who never had the choice of joining the group they found themselves in having been born into the cult through their parents’ involvement. Famous tragic cases like ‘Heaven’s Gate’, The Jonestown Massacre, Waco, NXVIUM are just a few that spring to mind. They come in all shapes and sizes and cover many areas that include religious cults, Occult cults, New Age cults, UFO cults and the deadliest of all, the doomsday and suicide cults. Of course, a lot of these groups cross these areas, or morph over time becoming hybrids, a good example might be ‘Heaven’s Gate’ which went from your UFO type cult to of course a UFO suicide cult where 39 took their own lives believing they would be transported onto a spaceship hiding behind the Hale Bopp comet as it passed Earth.

One of the biggest problems is that members of a cult a lot of the time do not even realise they are in a cult until it is too late. Some escape and recover but it’s not easy for them to adjust to life outside the cult institution they were part of. Many need years of de-programming and therapy to assimilate back into normal society.

Heidi is a very brave lady, who is on a mission to expose the true nature of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the LDS Church or Mormon Church. At great sacrifice to herself she is doing it from the centre of the lion’s den, from within the world epicentre of the religion/cult itself in the area around Salt Lake City. Unlike many who escape religious cults, Heidi managed through all the trauma of her experiences within the LDS church to hold on to her foundational faith in God. Today she gives back to the world in a number of ways as a pay it forward to her faith. She is a mental health nurse and also runs her own amazing podcast that we urge you to check out called ‘Unfiltered Rise Podcast’ which raises awareness on a wide range of occult-based topics the public are largely unaware of that affect the world in a negative way.
