  • In this episode of the Black Power Revisited Podcast, Cliff Albright is joined by Congressman Jamaal Bowman, the United States Representative for New York's 16th District. A former middle school principal and educator, Congressman Bowman spoke with Cliff about childhood experiences, and how hip-hop music planted the seeds for his social justice and racial justice work and advocacy. They discussed Rep. Bowman's experience as an educator and working with his students and community and what led him to run for political office. The Congressman spoke of what Black power means in the everyday lives of people and their community, as well as what it looks like in the halls of Congress. Cliff and Representative Bowman also discussed current examples showing we're building Black power and what he's working to change in our communities in the immediate future.
