  • 60: Smooth and stormy seas raising 5 kids (13-23yo) on a sailboat

    Tanya and her husband made a huge leap when they had a young family and moved full time onto a sailboat, where they raised and homeschooled their 5 kids (now 13-23 years old). Tanya's 13-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter are the two remaining kids on the boat, currently in Florida.     Jeanelle is a mom in Australia, managing life with a 15-week-old baby and a 2-year-old toddler. Her husband works away from home for two-week stretches, so they have chosen to have a live-in demi-pair to get Jeanelle her own much-needed time for 20 hours/week for resting and running her business, The Intuitive Parent (you can also find her @intuitiveparentau). Intuitive parenting practices she incorporates in her own parenting include elimination communication and bed sharing.

    Jerome and Caitlin share an update on their family routine, with Jerome being a stay-at-home dad to their 3-year-old, Charlie. Charlie has started preschool and dropped her nap since we last shared, making Jerome's job harder and Caitlin's job doing bedtimes easier. Reesa shares their approach to breaking cycles, watching the boys gain more independence, family chores, and their "coin" system that the boys use to pay for privileges.     Jarom Rogers, his wife, and their four kids (two girls and two boys ranging from 1-9 years old) live in the Phoenix suburbs, where he has a busy real estate career that requires lots of night and evening work. He and his wife balance that along with a busy extra-curricular schedule for the older girls who do competitive dance.
