    Holidays and celebrations are a time for joy, but they can also be a time of disappointment. One of the biggest things that used to stress me out about the holidays was all the expectations I had for myself and for others. I would expect I needed to be happy, laughing, joyful the whole day or the day was a disappointment. And I would expect my family would give me reasons to feel all of those things. But of course, that's not realistic and a great way to be let-down. Here's some quick tips to have less change of being bummed out on these special days.

'Presence' is not one of the well-known love languages, but it's one that can have far-reaching benefits for kids. Studies have shown that children thrive more when they feel like they are getting attention and love from you. It's not always easy to be present, especially when you already have adulting thoughts occupying your brain, but it is do-able.
