DAY 1: PIONEERTOWN

• Luna bakery (Matt’s got the cheese scone and we shared a cinnamon scroll)
• Pioneertown (my absolute fave)!!
• Pioneertown motel (such a cute little spot to stay in Pineoneertown, if you're staying here you can walk all of pioneertown so easily)
• Pappi & Harriet’s (incred foods and live music scene)
• Red Dog Saloon (great brekkie buritto and tater tots)

DAY 2: YUCCA VALLEY

• Vintage shopping:
• Mojave Flea Trading Post (new and old goodies, we found some greta vintage things here but also fun new touristy nick nacks too)
• The time echo vintage (lots of cool vintage)
• Nitty Gritty
• Reg shopping:
• Hoof and horn

DAY 3: JOSHUA TREE

• Joshua Tree trading post (lots of local designers)
• Sun of the Desert (cute local gifts)
• The station (gift shop and fun photo op)
• Más O Menos (coffee)
• Joshua Tree Saloon (this is where Post Malone shot a recent video clip, its got full Western vibes)
• Tiny Pony (dinner and pickle martini or pikletini if you will)
• stargazing and meteor shower!

DAY 4: tune in next week!!

Welcome back to the pod: actor, writer and producer TRAVIS JEFFERY!

When I saw the trailer for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes I wrote to Trav just asking if i could re-release the episode we recorded 4 years ago in celebration of this new movie and Trav said let's do a new pod chat, so here we are! There are so many pearls of wisdom in this chat from handling rejection to not comparing yourself to others. And of course i had to ask about being cast as the cheeky chimp Anaya in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Trav talked about working with motion capture technology and being in ape school for 6 weeks, which also meant he got to work with the legendary Andy Serkis (Gollum and Caesar).

Trav also talked about his short film Dusty; that he stars in, wrote and produced. It's incredible, heads up, this movie unpacks grief and substance use. Trav talks about the whole process and his own grief that this movie is based upon.

Righto! Today we have actor Travis Jeffery on the pod! He's an incredible Aussie actor who's worked with the likes of Angelina Jolie in Unbroken and Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean.

And recently he's played "Anaya" in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which has taken the world by storm!

So I wrote to Trav and said "Mate congrats on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes! Are you comfy if i re-release our pod chat fro a few years back?" And Trav said yeah sure, go for it. And then offered to do another interview about all the new exciting things he's been up to! So of course i had to say yes.

In the prep for our most recent chat i listened back to the ep we did 4 years ago and i thought, well i need to give this one another release, so what you have here today is the first chat we had 4 years ago! And next week will be our most recent chat about all things Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes - so tune in then too!
