  • Colin and Jean Mackenzie’s Story: Rebuilding the Domestic Church
    Jun 27 2024

We’re excited to welcome our first married couple to the podcast! Colin and Jean are long-time RC members who’ve combined their psychological and military backgrounds to serve a joint mission and passion: a ministry to support and strengthen marriages!

Jean uses her gifts in counseling and Colin uses his strategic strengths to come up with a tool to help serve married couples, as there is a clear attack on marriage in our modern world. The online course they offer, Holy Union Blueprint, helps couples cultivate a deeper connection with God and their spouse.

The recent Regnum Christi General Convention highlighted the importance of pastoral work with married couples in all its stages: “Strengthen pastoral care for marriage and the family, as it is the basic nucleus of society and the natural place where the person discovers themself, develops, and learns to love. We want the structure of Regnum Christi to respond better to the needs of marriages and to elaborate formative itineraries that accompany the vocation to love along all its stages and situations: dating, marriage prep, marriage, families with children, old age, and widowhood, as well as separation or divorce when it unfortunately occurs. We want to form and project true apostles of marriage and the family.”-Communique n. 27

Thank you, Jean and Colin, for responding to the need with your time and talent!

  • Helen Yalbir's Story: RC General Convention as discerning together in the heart of the Church
    Jun 13 2024

We are honored to sit down with Helen Yalbir today as she shares her experience attending the RC General Convention in Rome! Before diving into what it was like at the Convention, Helen shared a little about how she first met Regnum Christi and felt called to consecrated life. We chat about everything from her work as a spiritual director and serving young adults in Dallas, Texas, to her unique Turkish culture and all the many ways God has prepared her for this moment.

In the hope-filled conversation, Helen describes the family spirit and profound listening, prayer, and discernment that imbues her experience of the RC General Convention. She does a great job of explaining the structure, process, and some key takeaways. We highly encourage you to check out the links below, especially the communiqué with the conclusions—a worthwhile and powerful read!

May we all live this spirit of prayerful discernment as we ponder what God desires for each one of us in our own countries, localities, and families. One particular line from the communiqué stuck out as we continue to journey, listening to the stories of RC members around the world:

“This is the time of God’s grace for us, our kairós; it is time for the spiritual joy of the here and now, the moment to express redeeming love to all. We can regard the past without nostalgia or fear as it is the memory of God with us. We can look to the future with theological hope and without fantasies of earthly greatness.”

Truly, this is a time of God’s grace, a time for each of us to step out bravely in mission, a time for us to individually respond to what God may be asking us for this moment, for such a time as this.

  • Jaella Mac Au's Story: On the Pilgrim Journey with God
    May 30 2024

This week, around the table on the For This Moment Podcast, we are blessed to have Jaella Mac Au join us. She is a young woman from Atlanta, an RC member, and currently a Eucharistic Perpetual Pilgrim journeying the 2,200 miles from California to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the National Eucharistic Congress. Jaella gives us a bit of her backstory about how she went from someone who didn’t really have God in her life to becoming His missionary and apostle of the Kingdom.

While you listen, you can consider all the small and big ways God the Good Shepherd has allowed different moments and chapters of your story to unfold to prepare you for your own personal mission. Where do you hear His call at this moment?

We invite all the listeners to pray for a deep Eucharistic Revival in the hearts of all Catholics as the longest Eucharistic Procession in history takes place across the United States. The beauty of the Mystical Body is that we, too, can be on the journey every time we receive His Body and Blood present in the Eucharist.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”-Isaiah 6:8.

  • Julia O'Connor's Story: In the Garden of the King
    May 16 2024

Today's episode is with our lovely guest, Julia O'Connor! She is a wife, mother, and current Louisville RC Women's Section Director. In our conversation, Julia opens her heart to share all the places of intimacy in her relationship with Our Lord and how He invites her to collaborate in His mission.
She beautifully describes how the image of being and working in God's garden has been woven throughout her life's story, vocation, and current mission. Her testimony reminds us that our yes in the present moment is always a response to the love of God poured into us. We hope this episode inspires you to lean close to His heart in this novena of Pentecost and hear how He invites you to respond in love to His love.
Listening to Julia's story, Laura is reminded of a quote from the book "Divine Intimacy": "Your goodness is your mission. God's goodness is infinite, and nothing can be added to it. So, the goodness you bring to this earth was not created with your existence. Whatever good that comes from you already exists in Him. Some part of His infinite goodness was previously hidden until your birth. This is your mission. You are an icon of His goodness. You are needed. Show the world your goodness; show the world a part of God's face previously unseen."
May this episode bless you, dear listeners. Know that you are always in our prayers as you go about being icons of God's goodness and love!

  • Lisa Small's Story: Serving the whole spiritual family
    May 2 2024

Today's guest on the For This Moment Podcast is Consecrated Woman of Regnum Christi Lisa Small from New Zealand. She shares her story of a deep love for Jesus in the Eucharist which led her to follow Him in the vocation to consecrated life and leaving everything, even her country, to follow His lead.

Her profound love for the spiritual family of Regnum Christi and her own experiences of suffering have not only shaped her but also led her to a personal mission of serving the whole spiritual family, accompanying them with unwavering love, prayer, and discernment.

"I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. "I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one."-John 17: 21-24

  • Valerie Doran's Story: Building the Kingdom one yes at a time
    Apr 18 2024

This week's guest on the For This Moment Podcast is wife and mother Valerie Doran from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She shares her story of discovering a deep and personal relationship with Jesus in adoration and how he led her to Regnum Christi. She opens her heart about offering Jesus her littleness and how, by being docile to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, she was given the grace to found Captivenia Girls' Camp.

Over the years, it has also touched the lives of thousands of young women and girls who have met Jesus through the experience of Captivenia.
