  • #371 - Matt Stolarz - Creative Technologist
    Feb 14 2024

Matt Stolarz joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss his winding career in technology and sports betting.

Through college and the early part of his career, Matt was very much a jack of all trades tinkering and learning everything he could about a swath of different verticals. While this helped, he always felt like an imposter when tasked with specific jobs because he was never formally trained in each of these areas.

Thankfully, he was able to continue down the path of Software Engineer but because of his wide array of expertise, he could communicate better with each of the teams around him in their language.

    A translator, if you will.

As a huge fan of sports, when PASPA was repealed and William Hill came stateside Matt jumped at the opportunity to work for one of the first online sportsbooks in America.

Through his time at William Hill/Caesars, Matt gained further knowledge of the industry and took up the mantle as a leader in the organization. Getting down and dirty with building a sports betting app allowed Matt to take his talents to Prophet Exchange, the first US Sports Betting Exchange, and be the lead mind in creating this product from soup to nuts!

Go connect with Matt on LinkedIn, especially if you're trying to break into the industry!
