  • "Infamous Crimes: Sex Panic in Boise" — Coming Jan. 11
    Jan 5 2021

Thanks to YOU and your support, I have an all-new serial coming next week for you.

I've been fascinated by the Boise gay sex panic of 1955 for a long time. While working on the first season of Queer Serial I kept coming across letters, homophile publications, and news clips about the scandal. I had hoped to include it in season 2 of QS but the more I looked into it, the bigger Boise's story became. It became an 8-episode limited series.

Can't wait for you to hear! 💖

    xoxo

  • "The Dogcatcher"
    Sep 8 2020

A standalone story, and sort of a prequel to A Queer Serial season 2! On the main pod, we'll soon be following the Mattachine Society of Washington. Here, we'll explore the first Mattachine group in D.C., led by Dwight Huggins in the early 1950s.

We met one of the members way back in the very first episode of the podcast, 1920s Society for Human Rights co-founder Henry Gerber.

Once again, things quickly go south.

  • Interview w/ founding Radical Faerie Joey Cain
    Jul 13 2020

An actual fairy tale! One of the founding Radical Faeries, Joey Cain, joins me for an interview after we record his part as Elver Barker.

The Radical Faeries are a gay consciousness group started by Mattachine creator Harry Hay and others in the late 70s. They started in Arizona, and Faerie groups spread across the country and still meet today. Joey and I talk about his years with the Faeries and what came after for him in San Francisco. He’s also become one of my dearest judys, and it’s an honor to have him on the show as both himself and as Elver.
