Future Ancestors

By: Future Ancestors
  • Summary

  • The Future Ancestors Podcast is a conversation series by Kat Serrano and Jason Encite that explores the Filipino American experience from those who live it. The history of the Philippines runs both parallel and interwoven with American history. As generations came over as colonized field laborers and later as nurses and domestic workers, their children flourished in their chosen occupations. Kat and Jason will discuss with each other and with guests the camaraderie of Filipino pride while navigating their lack of knowledge of the language and culture. The name Future Ancestors aims to replace the feeling of not knowing with a rich tapestry of stories that future generations can learn from and be inspired by. Our hope is that by sharing these stories, we can honor the legacy of our ancestors and contribute to a greater understanding of the Filipino experience.
